There is no rule stating you must report anyone you deem who MAY have an offensive name. You are suffering from delusions of grandeur. You are not a mod for a reason. Not sure why you think it is your responsibility to police the community.

When open beta started, I made a post asking for new moderators. Not to replace the current ones, mind you, but to add to them to help the existing "staff".

In that post, I pointed that even though I'd probably volunteer, I could not do so in a clear conscience since I would fall back onto sarcasm and generally asshole-ish behaviour all too often.

I'm not what you'd call a good person. I'm not proud of it, but that's just how shit is.

The only difference I'm seeing between you and me, is the fact that I'm self-aware. :)

Edit: Oh, and yes, there may not be an explicit guideline stating we should all report potentially offensive names, but offensive names are not allowed in the first place. What kind of a community would we be if we let sexist or racist or otherwise discriminatory toon names run rampant? Even if it was none of these in OP's case, some people have trouble with anal. Deal with it.

Uhm, Charan. When 3-5 people starts a big conversation in global chat in, let's say Russian or Spanish - what to do? It's pretty annoying for any person who doesn't understand it, but I guess you can't report it, as there is no rules for language.

The devs themselves have asked people to stick to English in Global Chat, and given we can't moderate foreign languages we don't understand, that's a fair call.

Personally, I ask that people just /ignore it. It's not fair that we don't have foreign language chat channels yet, and if I were on a game made in, say, Japan, and I found other English speakers in the chat, I'd probably try to talk to them.

...SO just ignore it. A dev might intervene, but I won't.

We want no guilt associated with using it. No hesitation. No shame.

Keep in mind that abuse of it will result in some pretty severe repercussions -- every report sends us a good sample of the chat at the time so we can tell when someone's Reporting just to be spiteful.

So, I think you should probably drop your argument now, Dex. We WANT people to use the Report button. Actively. Profusely.

My argument is against a guy who is openly admitting to abusing the report function to troll people for lulz. Meh... argument dropped though.
