Curious about the male/female ratio

I know what you mean. A close female gamer that I've known for about 5 years has done the same thing. While in TS or Ventrilo she uses voice altering software to talk to people in public chat rooms. Only in private PW protected rooms with people she trusts would she use her normal voice.

I think it was said earlier, but many girl gamers don't announce they are girls because, well quite frankly, there are many gamers out there that immediately hit on them just because they are female. The number of female gamers I know who have recieved requests to 'giv me ur MSN plz so I cn sho u my c0ck lol' is staggering. You wouldn't do it on the street (or maybe you would, and if so, stay the hell away from my girlfriend) so why is it okay to do it online?

Huh...ranted a little there. I apologise. It's just sometimes I hate my gender for being blatantly stupid.

I have actually been pegged as female on various occasions by people who had either just seen me communicating with typing, and by people who had heard my voice.(in video games, and on the telephone) I'm not trying to deceive people though, it's just a happy accident. :) While I would be considered male by normal standards, I don't really like to define or categorize myself by gender, so how 'bout putting me down as

I do like topics like this. I think it's fun and interesting to see not only what the numbers are, but see what people consider themselves.(and sometimes why) Like are people talking purely from an anatomical standpoint, or mental, spiritual, all three, or something else entirely?
