I hope not. The BG story is finished.

Yeah how do they want to continue? The CoB saga concluded with ToB.
Did they even read the epilogue? They stated over 100 years have passed.
While the good/neutral ending are canonical ending they are ending 1369 DR.

Current DnD settings are around 120 years after BG. This means only 4 NPCs could be still alive.

No one here has played Atlus games?

A lot of people nowadays take western rpgs and Dark Souls, and that's it. The folks at Atlus, even if using the dated format many JRPGs have, have created a lot of innovative things that even WRPGs could learn about.

Although I know some, never played Atlus games. Also, Dark Souls is the Nicholas Cage of games; it's so bad that it's good. Could you recommend me some of their games? Can't pick one easily; games are crazy expensive here. More or less, a dinner at the best restaurant of the city costs the same amount as an average videogame.

PS!
Not that we get much variety, either. It's either Steam, Origin or play the "11/10 IGN" games.

Can you please elaborate on that one? As to what Nero said, it is a matter of taste. I never likes Zelda or Final Fantasy, so basically i never bothered with JRPGs too much. I have played most of the good western ones though. Dark Souls i loved because it was in it's core a western PG title(that's the developer's word), that was developed in Japan, so it was weird :D Also the Wticher is an eastern europe RPG, heh, and for me personally it is the best of it's generation. Recent western RPGs, like dragon age, Fallout new vegas, skyrim, king;s of Amalur do not come close to it(IMO).

The Witcher and Dark Souls(2), are the 2 games that basically renewd my interest in RPGs. I though most of the recent titles were always recycling older games, usually making them worse.

Let's see...

Artificial Difficulty:
In all of my DS playtime, I've never seen an enemy that defeated me because of its AI; it's just sheer damage numbers. And that comes from someone who won The Witcher 2 on Insane Difficulty.

Bad physics:
Non-prop corpses are balloons. It's plain silly.

Plot:
Subpar. Tell me an outstanding aspect about the story.

It was a good idea, sure. But the execution as bad.

PS!
Although I can agree in that Dragon Age was bad and Fallout NV wasn't enough. Amalur I've never played, so I can't say.

This is an easy question, go rock all the SNES jrpgs. They are both amazing and entertaining. If you need roms, let me know, I have them all.

john is right about the south park rpg too, its was quite entertaining, and decent mechanics.

I'm fine getting them on my own.
I've already played all the FFs, Chrono Trigger, and I don't feel like playing Romancing Saga, Legend of Mana or something like that. Too homogeneous for me, n_nU

Im starting to feel like this thread was more about telling us what rpgs you like and less about which one to play next. Atlus jRPGs...shudders.

ALL FFS!?!!?ONE?1?

Hell, how did you manage that? There are very few people who have played all FFs. Even less that understood the whole story.

PS!
Well, Legend of Mana is nice, although I found Romancing Saga somewhat dull.

Each to his own, but while the damage is pretty high, every single attack of any enemy or boss is avoidable if you played correctly. About AI, NPC invader's in the DS2 DLCs has some of the best AI i have ever seen. You could swear they are real players. About physics, well never really cared about it. Plot is not subpar, it is not awasome either, especially if you compare it to the Witcher. However the lore is amazing.
As for Witcher on insane difficulty, i have beat it as well, but i did not play the operator, i bet neither have you :D.

Not to brag, but I did play the Operator. That doesn't mean I didn't back away a thousand times to cast Quen and bring a load of Swallow potions. Also, you can make the Operator ignore you if you sneak behind a pillar. He makes gestures provoking you, but that's it.

Although I enjoyed Dark difficulty a lot more. The special equipment helped a lot.

PS!
But I did enjoy Demon's Souls. But the series just seem to downgrade with each new release. It's just that these things are off. Maybe I'm exaggerating, but that's what I think about Dark Souls.
