Also it makes the whole thing of "go crit or go home" even more prevalent then it already is.

Imagine you have 25% crit chance and you use a duration based vaal skill. 1/4 times it will crit

Now whats your best route to go? increase your crit chance to 50%+ to reduce that to 1/2.

Instead if it rolled for crit every 0.5 seconds the skill's would actually do the same average damage, but not make 25% crit builds useless.

Dat animation lock. Combine it with spell echo and stand still for 20 minutes casting stuff each mouse click. What could go wrong?
Tendrils does not have a good feeling for me.
I will try it at least once, but i cannot see myself getting behind it yet.

Let's see what FC and Echo can do for it ...

Yeah. But its slow cast time and high base damage make it pretty marginal a support - on Storm Call Added Lightning Damage is around +33% more damage. On Lightning Tendrils it's around +14%. Which is not worth a support slot.

Why are you going on about the cast time? It's the same as Arc's. And people have no problem using that. Even with Spell Echo. The damage effectiveness is also fine (it's 100% as it has already been pointed out).

Still, I fail to see how this spell brings anything new to the table. It's main puropse seems to be the new low level lightning spell, on the grand scale it's just inferior to Incinerate/Flame Surge (no AA to block reflect).
I also don't undestand why this legacy concept of rapid firing small lightning damage spells remains in the game - with shock stacking already removed.

I smell Palpatine'esque armor MTX incoming.

But seriously - looks cool, but probably will be a pain to use, it should have been a projectile and aoe. It would have allowed for much more build possobilities, at least on paper.

I encountered massive desync problems when using this skill. It felt like i stopped casting to move on my client but Server side i was still casting... Anyone else?

Well it was obvious that it would be desynch prone, after all it is a duration based skill that locks you in place. Considering you are not stun immune during that time, you will have constant disagreement with client/server about whether you are still casting or not which will effect the actions you do after cast.
