THIS GAME IS THE REAL DIABLO COMEBACK
Personally I think this is going to be 10 times better than diablo, I serioulsy can't wait for the betakey/release!

I think that even if I'm not so excited about D3 as I'am for PoE right now.. they only comeback for diablo will be diablo 3.. its Story is awesome since the first one and even with the changes in the design, skill, sistems and all, D3 is gonna have a great feel that is being part of that story (in a diferente part of its tmeline)

D3 doesn't look that great, especially at 60$.
There's quite a few better alternative coming soon, like Path of Exile, Grim Dawn or Torchlight 2... All which will also be cheaper than Diablo 3. I personally have high hopes for PoE but since I haven't played it yet, can't be sure what I'll be playing :D. |

" I said it in another thread... I wont pay $60 just on principle. Gaming companies that are jumping on the $60 wagon get nothing from me. But I'm eyeing what's out there now in the competition. Things sure are looking good. Join the Veterans of War! See the thread in Off-topic for details.

Well i was looking forward to Diablo 3, but POE is more in the dark and gritty that I prefer.
Every day you may make progress. Every step may be fruitful. Yet there will stretch out before you an ever-lengthening, ever-ascending, ever-improving path. You know you will never get to the end of the journey. But this, so far from discouraging, only adds to the joy and glory of the climb.

" Well, it is the internet. :) |

" Really? Have you watched the most recent gameplay vids? Some of them look awesome, like D2 on crack. Grim Dawn is a total unkown, tbh it might very well suck considering its more or less the same guys who did TQ. And although TQ had a cult following it was a commercial failure, it failed to capture the right feeling of an addictive ARPG, lets be honest they all have except the Diablo series. I mean I might be wrong GD might be great but all anyones seen so far is limited gameplay and screenshots. As for Torchlight I often find myself wondering what other people are seeing, I played the first one and it played like a cheap PSN download or something of that nature. In fact Dungeon Hunter Alliance is nearly as good as Torchlight and its an iPhone port... T2 looks like more of the same to me, just lacks the 'oomph' that Diablo has, its world is bland and uninteresting, loot system wasnt even very good tbh. POE is the only real contender against D3 in my eyes. It has a USP, unlike the other games. The whole gem system and skill matrix thing is so unique it offers a totally new gameplay experience and level of depth for an ARPG. The others just look like Diablo clones with less interesting settings. As an aside most ARPGs always miss the one thing D2 did brilliantly, HORDES of crappy monsters. It was one of the joys of D2 when there were so many mobs you could barely move on the screen, most other ARPGs have mob groups limited to like 4 or 5 tops at a time and it just doesnt feel epic and visceral enough. Some of the best areas in D2 for instance were the ones packed with enemies, like the Tombs in Act2, the dungeons in Act3 and the area just before Diablo in Act4. Modern ARPGs always have to few monsters imo |

Wow, 4 pages of this.
If you couldn't tell, this post was created out of excitement, by a person who either has a terrible vocabulary or doesn't natively speak English. Regardless, I understood what he was feeling. Many niche games/genres have died over my many years of gaming. This is one of those niche games. Diablo is Diablo and there's no such thing as a "Diablo Killer" (save for the RMAH [for me anyway]). However, I'd accuse you of lying if you didn't play both games and find POE to be more familiar. Which is what all of these posts are really about. P.S. I was unlucky enough to get beta access for D3. I say unlucky, because the game was actually enjoyable, and had a hint of nostalgia, albeit small. I wish I hadn't liked it though, because the RMAH will keep me from ever playing. Let's be realistic, ALL (EVERY LAST ONE) of the naysayers probably would have purchased the game no matter the graphical/gameplay changes. But the RMAH was something entirely different and horrible. Path of Exile is my sequel to D2... who cares what other people say. Play what ya want. Just my 2 cents. IGN: Cadmus / Valgar Last edited by Kaylos#0046 on Oct 17, 2011, 7:53:06 PM

Totally agree Mythic. Looks like the sequel to D2 to me as well. PoE, Torchlight II, then D3 for my wish list. This game looks like it has incredible promise and with the small dev group Im super psyched to play and support these guys. Incredible looking game, hoping to get in to the beta to.
