THIS GAME IS THE REAL DIABLO COMEBACK

Lol ya right, D3 being deeper? There aren't even skill trees like in D2. You just level up and get what your class is. Take a good look at how they've simplified D3 and you'll see what I mean. Its waaaay casual, streamlined, and generally dumbed down.

Compare D3 to something with depth like TQ, or upcoming titles like Grimm Dawn and PoE. It lacks in quite a few ways.

The only thing D3 really has going for it is the diablo story/art direction.

Are we tlaking about the same game here ?

Diablo3 will have hte most variation of different combinations of skills. I think its live over 700 per charactter. Do some damn research before spouting bullshit. They're called runestones.

Still, nothing of substance in your post, just " casual streamlined and dumbed down " and your only "example" is incorrect.

And hah, Your comparing D3 to Titanquest? Are you fucking kidding me.

titan quest IS DIABLO.

So presumably you missed out how you get to choose from a list of 37 skills for a Barb in D3 and only 30 in D2? And take note 5 of those skills in D2 are just masteries for different weapon types, and about 6 are utterly pointless beyond normal difficulty level. Where as in D3 the skills are useful right into the end game with the addition of skill runes. The ONLY thing thats less deep is the fact you dont get to pick your statistics, which is a shame, but honestly most people just spent them on set stats anyway according to strict builds so it wasnt really worth keeping in the long run. I suggest you stop listening to comments from others and look into whats different about D3, its isnt simplified at all.

Its simpler to understand and harder to gimp your character, but that should not be confused with being simplified. In D3 the chances of you meeting another character with the same skills is remote, in D2 its just an unavoidable reality.

While D3 is not as deep as POE in terms of customisation, its much deeper than D2, and clearly you havent played it if you think otherwise.
I agree with not being able to pick your stats as well but to be honest, it was always the same thing, put just enough in to wear equipment dump the rest in vit.

Done.

Thats the thing largely the things they've removed or made more user friendly where either pointless or just plain obtuse in D2. Like how you dont need TP scrolls now, is that 'less hardcore' or just less of a pain in the ****!

Just many people love to have a moan and think it makes them cool kids to bash a game thats clearly going to be massively popular.
I'm sure both games will be great! :D
I would like a Beta key, because I am British and like Tea.
I have to agree I'm excited for both games. Diablo 3 looks awesome so does POE. When either or comes my grades are gonna drop.
I'm totally going to play both games, they look gorgeous and both reflect the "creepy" and horror atmosphère we're used to in Hack'n'slashers!

Makes me think back to EverQuest. Many people say that it was/is a hardcore MMORPG, but it really isn't all that hardcore, but just flat out pain.

Don't get me wrong, I loved EQ and it rests in a very special place in my heart, but camping a monster spawn for 72 hours to get a single drop that was to be used in a 24+ hour quest to get a weapon... That is not something I miss.

Then in the off chance you die, as your power goes out for a week. What's that? Your corpse disappeared because you couldn't retrieve it in time? Too bad.

Ahh, the pains of a "hardcore" game. Hardcore shouldn't mean difficult. Are homeless people just doing a hardcore version of living? >.<

I try to be as respectful as I can to you, whether I agree with your opinions or not. I only ask that you grant me the same courtesy.

Good post. Summed up EQ well. I had some great times in EQ but at the cost of fun sometimes.

People kiting specters down the beach while other people farmed crocs and Lockjaw. Oh how I had so many laughs in that game.
oh hey
