[2.1] Nalaa's Phys Lightning arrow | 5L 30k dps

I just wanna say a few words about this build and a big thanks to Nalaa :)

My ranger is now lvl 78 and the build is working great. My ranger is my second character and my first full playthrough. A few really good things that hasn't been mentioned in the original post.

1) This build works without having superp gear ready for it.
2) I solo'ed everything except merciless Oak. Its strong for solo play.
3) Nalaa has answered so many questions throughout this tread and you deserve a big thanks for your work :)
4) Can clear maps without supergood gear.

All in all I can highly recomend the build for a first character!

A good tip is to use a astramentis (using a 120 one myself.) with this build, so you can skip sevant and pick something better. And It's good for iron grip. :)

Possibly Elemental Hit + LMP/GMP + pierce/fork + LoH/LL + elemental damage? I used EH+lmp before I got blood magic and LoH gem, as LA just eats way way to much mana without them.

Even if LA gets nerfed. that doesnt mean it wont still be usable. And frankly I dont think anything to severe is coming. LA is both the primary way of dealing elemental damage to a group with a bow, and extremely weak if you do not make a build specifically for it.

Without a high elemental modifier, blood magic+LoH gem (a 4l+ LA costs a lot of mana, its really not feasible without bm+loh+lots of hp), and static blows, its really a very mediocre skill.

Freezing Pulse is also an uber fantastic skill when built around and properly gemmed, does that need a nerf too?

If anything, its various other skills (lightning caster offense, various different archer shots) that need buffs or modifications. LA and Freezing Pulse are 2 skills that actually work great when built around. We need more of this!

I find that necks give too much boost in dps. Same as rings. I also like running MF for which all rings and ammy are important for. So as to not sacrifice these slots, I am using sin trek boos with 30 int (1 savant saved) and an ammy with int and resistances and mf.

QUESTION: I've searched everywhere and don't know the answer to this. Supposedly, armor gives you movement speed penalty right? Well do we get penalty from evaseion by iron reflex keystone? Or is armor penalty applied only from strength armor?

Only chest armor and shields cause movement speed reduction.

LA scales with gear so much better than FP does. LA >> FP in truly (current) end game maps with high end gear. That's why ele bow builds are dominating the (end) game right now, especially compared to traditional casters. Despite my history, I would advocate toning down the scaling of LA.

Hey Nalaa,

I'm new to the game, and I saw your build, and decided to go with it. I'm currently lvl 35 and approaching Blood Magic on the tree.

I'm curious though.... I only have a little over 700hp, but I managed to pick up a LGoH gem though in preparation... but its only at lvl 5 (14 life per hit).

I have lightning arrow (not that hard to get), but I can't really afford to get Chain as of now due to me being new.

ANYWAY.... My question:

Do you think it's wise for me to get Blood Magic in my current state? I'm afraid that my LGOH isn't high enough, and neither is my HP.

What do you think? Thanks

When I leveled, I didn't use chain. Just use life on hit, lesser multiple. The more things you attach, the more life it will use up so with 700 life, better just attach 2 or 3 things (not chain) to lightning arrow.
