What uniques ideas would truly be unique?

Would like to see different levels of the same rare. For instance a lowbie rare would be like a Solaris Lorica while an elite version would be a Shav's.

Lowbie BoR might allow chest armor but at a much lower gem support in the helm itself.



I guess my point is that there are a ton of cool uniques out there that are just terrible because they are balanced around newbie levels. If they were re-balanced for a level 65+ drop they would actually be desirable.

At no point should you get a high level unique drop and immediately vendor trash it.
Chest Armor with:

Nearby Enemies are Dominated upon death.
You cannot deal damage with skills yourself.

Could have other stats like Mana, Life, Chaos res or whatever, but I like the idea of a frontline minion master.

That one would probably be run with Echoed Raging Spirits FTW :)
i wish we have more scaling uniques like pilar of the caged god, double edge / convertions would be nice too, say:

convert 30% of aura radius into increased effects of auras on you
blood magic
eldritch battery

----

100% more global damage
80% less global attack/cast speed

----

400-500% increased damage of physical reflects (in before bramblejack becomes an imba unique)

greed aura, only affect enemy npcs and will have a very large area:
150-200% increased attack and cast speed
50% increased movment speed and agro range
will always target the caster of the aura first
50% less global damage
self found league fan

Crystaline Ring (Sapphire ring)

+20-30 cold resist
----------
+30-50 cold damage
+40-80 life and energy shield
+5% to maximum cold resistance
Cannot be frozen or chilled
Cannot deal fire damage
Ignite on you has +50% duration

Any damage that would normally have killed your character, will instead reduce you to 1 HP and encase you in a block of ice for 3 seconds making you invulnerable to damage and regenerating you back to 100% life and energy shield. When the ice block fades - the ring is destroyed and releases a level 20 ice nova with 100% freeze chance.

Description:

This ring can save,
life from early grave.
The cold touch of death,
Defied in final breath.

I was going to say its too much like Ice Block from WoW but I really like the idea of having an expensive item that saves your character but breaks upon use. I also like the idea of "cursed" items in general like stuff you cant remove once equipped or can be removed and get destroyed in the process.

This kind of item has been discussed on the forums before, and it will never ever get in. The reason being is that in the HC leagues, this item will become and absolute necessity for every build ever, and players will run with the item regardless if the item works with their build or not.

The game would become solely based around a single item, and GGG works hard at trying to stop a single way of playing becoming dominant.

i don't remember who it was that posted an unique amulet, but it was quite cool :)

it had the following mods.

EB
CI
120% of damage is taken from mana before life

always thought it would be a cool idea :)
