Just starting playing Poe!

I give you a month before you start complaining about desynch.
Welcome OP.

One of the most important things to learn as a new player is what items have value and which ones are fine to vendor or use up.

A lot of orbs, while useful at any level, become far more useful at higher levels, such as Alchemy and Chaos so you should stockpile them. But if you have an excess, using a few can get you through a difficult period where good items aren't dropping. Like say if you have a low level weapon that isn't doing enough damage and it's taking forever to kill things, no replacement can be found. So you get a weapon your level and 'alch' it, boom, automatic rare, decent chance of being useful too. Or you could instead try to trade the orb for a nice item.

Plan ahead for future characters. For instance, even if you don't have a bow ranger yet, but you stumble across a really nice bow with high damage %, elemental damage, attack speed and mana leech on it. By all means, keep it in the stash ready to go, so if and when you make a bow user later it will there for them.

Some items are great just because of the number sockets/links they have. If you find 4 socket 4 linked gloves, boots or helm, hold onto them even if they are white text normal ones. You can change the socket colors and upgrade it to a magic or rare.

Another thing to note, quality % on gems often unlocks hidden extra bonuses that a zero quality gem wouldn't get.

^Another option, aside from Alching, is to use vendor recipes:

In particular, if you simply need a weapon to do more physical damage, check out the whetstone/rustic sash/white weapon recipe. It's not all that useful at very low level, since IPD% won't amount to much on a low base item (especially compared to what the sash might provide), but later on, it can give you some nice, raw DPS, especially in a race. Also, the blue wand/scepter/Alteration/skill gem for +1 level to elemental damage gems is very handy, even from as early as you have the components. There are plenty of other useful recipes at that link, as well. Acquaint yourself with them, and you'll have a leg up on the game. =^[.]^=
