[2.1 Ghazzy - Summoner Guides] Low Budget Builds

Thinking about SRS as my first character in the 1.4 softcore league. Watched your video, which suggested life-based is easier with first character. Now, to the point, witch or scion.

Witch 6 points through Deep Wisdom
12 % increased maximum Energy Shield
34 + to maximum Energy Shield

55 % increased Mana Regeneration Rate
24 % increased maximum Mana
20 + to maximum Mana

52 Intelligence
14 Dex
14 Str

Scion 4 Points
20 % increased Mana Regeneration Rate
24 % increased maximum Mana

20 Intelligence
20 Dex
20 Str

So, for two points, the witch gets
12 % increased maximum Energy Shield
34 + to maximum Energy Shield

35 % increased Mana Regeneration Rate
20 + to maximum Mana

32 Int
-6 Str
-6 Dex

Given the mana needs of arctic armor and hasted, vaal hasted SRS, looks to me like witch the better start?

Hi ghazzy, how inferior is the ci version to the vita? I am playing on a low budget and went the ci route. Would I be better off going vita if I'm working with a limited budget?

The CI build requires a lot of focus around extra mana regen on your gear, i strongly suggest HP over CI due to the gearing issues

Witch is absolutely a better start, specially as you are getting all the gems you need via quest rewards that the scion does not provide you with. However, in the end (higher levels) the Scion steps up buildtree wise.

Again, these are my opinions in the way I play. If you think witch is stronger suited for your playstyle then by all means that would be the best class to play for you! :)

I'm considering playing this in the 1-month league. Is it feasable to reach the point of being able to kill Atziri before the leagues end? Without playing 10 hours a day.
Basically wondering which build you would recommend for the 1 month softcore league?
To answer you both:

Yes it is possible to reach Atziri without stressing yourself to death by playing no-life hours a day.
I would recommend going the HP version, preferably as Scion, but the again you'd have to purchase most gems you need, so perhaps pick a witch, run to mud flats take the SRS reward and hop on to your Scion and play from there!

Do you think you could link a HP SRS scion build that can do atziri I'm kinda having trouble deciding what to do.
Just thought I'd throw an update in here.

I started the HC 1-month a few days ago, having first done a bit of SC 1-month. So far this build is working great. I ripped at 30 something having leveled only with SRS, but it was pretty slow. Second character did Lightning Tendrils until 50, then switched to SRS. Much faster leveling that way.

Now at level 70, I'm finding early mapping to be a breeze. I can run most of the mods I've tried, although my zombies are still pretty squishy at effective level 19. On the easy maps I don't even bother summoning them, I just run through with SRS.

Currently I'm saving for a 5-link staff which should boost my dps tremendously. Also trying to get enough resists to use Dicipline instead of Purity of elements. I can't run 3 auras quite yet.

The ultimate goal is to try to kill Atziri. Killing her on HC would be a first for me, and the idea of doing it in a fresh league without other characters to feed me gear and currency, is very appealing to me.

Very nice update, USBastard. SRS is indeed very good for fresh league.

btw, I don't think Tendrils can outshine SRS in clearspeed, especially from lv23 where you can level up pretty fast with a Matua Tupuna and 3L SRS. Their DPS is insane at any level, and you don't waste moving time since SRS can clear mobs offscreen very fast (with 90% incr duration passive nodes + Flesh Offering speed buff). On the other hand, Tendrils require you to move up and pretty much tank mobs to use and for some reason, I feel its dps progress slow down around lv30 or so. In the last Bloodline League, I used SRS setup until I bought a 5L staff (5c) at A1M without any trouble or "slow clearspeed" at all. Ofc, I'm not racer-type player so perhaps I don't know what a "true good clearspeed" is, just my 2 cents.

P.S: I found Spectres to be redundant most of the time, probably because Spectres need different links for different monsters and it's annoying to find ones and keep them alive. I rather keep a skelly gem there for occasional decoy/dps.

The problem with SRS at early levels is the lack of Spell Echo / Faster Casting. Even at 31, I could not afford the Spell Echo. Without that, it took so long to cast a single spirit that it was almost painful to play. Sure it worked, but it felt so slow and dull that I was almost happy I ripped.

Lightning Tendrils did fine damage until level 50 with a +1 scepter and the AoE/damage/cast speed nodes from the templar area. I only had to respec 7 points switching from that to SRS, well worth it.

If could maybe see myself level with Spirits from the point of getting a Spell Echo, no sooner though.
Most other abilities are faster than SRS to lvl with :) Its a matter of taste really.

Regarding HP SRS Scion build for Atziri, there are updated buildtree links on the top of the thread. And on the bottom you got link to my hardcore thread where you can find the HP build thread if you need more than just the buildtree :)

I love to see updates of how you are doing and what you did to tackle certain issues and so forth, it's lovely to see everyons dedication to summoner! Keep up the great work people!
