Your League ideas
I don't think that my idea can be realized in PoE, because it requieres: 1) Very big instance 2) Large number of players in one instance at one time, but, I give it a try.
Labyrinth Each team/player start in different location of big labyrinth full of surprises (traps, maybe riddles etc.) and monsters. Each team/player are hostile to other team/player. In order to win they need to find an exite from the labyrinth (each time randomly generated) or, for example, eliminate other teams/players. I described the basis of my idea. This idea can be developed further. For example: in the middle of labyrinth colud be a boss (minotaure or something like that). This boss can drop a key to open the exit door or give a buff, or can just drop gear which will increase the chances to survive in the labyrinth for team/player who will defeat it. PS: However, it can be realized not in such large scale which I described in the beginning. It could be an instance for 12 players. [HORDS] League, my idears on it:
atm ingame every 13-15 group is only a real big one. wail most r small and every 3-5 is mid big, depends on map thow. 1st feater: ----------- this changes in HORDS League, every group is atleast mid big, wail every 3-5 is very big to very very big small groups r rare but will feater very stong enemys in combination for that. the dificulty of this is extra extra high and death is not a 1 timer like in HC. HC league is atm useless in my eyes cos i had atleast 5 lagdeaths per char. so this would give the dificulty freakz a new bust & a better selution, if there connection suffer from lags time to time like mine. 2nd feater: ----------- but thats not the only feater of this HORDS mode, the other exclusiv feater would be: a note free passiv skill tree!!!!!!!!!!! means to compensate the way harder dificulty, way stonger builds r posible and also builds u couldnt acomplish befor. like a dual wealin attckspeed summoner. 5000+ hp marauders. mages wit summons, double totems, & High ES wail at the same time hitin the Evasion Cap EndGame. Rangers wit the same in Armor & ES. weapon swoping builds would be more commen ther and i simply think it would be the most fun and compativ league..... greather for partyin also 3rd feater: ----------- better droprates from rare monsters in very & very very big groups. maybe call them difrent: crouded rares. wail havin even some uniqeu maps wit megacrouded groups that have uniqu bosses... extra extra hard and only for HORDS league this would have the function of pushin the overall happins :D and the uniqu maps r a very good idear i think hope u see this DEV...sry for my bad english Last edited by RoterRamses#2931 on Aug 26, 2012, 5:01:18 PM

Discussion in Beta events forum one-week HC race thread inspired the following (yes, this is a crosspost from that thread). ... Which got me thinking of a combined league. They did something vaguely like this in Magic the Gathering Online a really long time ago. I'll describe it how I see it like it would exist right now. The September Racer League announcement! The Racer League runs for one month, September 1st through September 30th. Players participate in this league with their accounts, not specific characters. As of September, GGG will run timed races every day of the week: * one-hour cutthroat event on mondays and thursdays * three-hour hardcore race without grouping on tuesdays and friday * three-hour hardcore race with grouping allowed on wednesdays and saturdays * two-hour cutthroat event on sundays Final ranking rules for cutthroat event are yet to be announced. Each of these events will be run three times every day to suit our players in North America, Europe and Australia. That makes a total of 27 time-limited events per week. Participating in these events award points based on final ranking in each event. (make up a points system, like in Formula 1 or something) Racer League rankings are determined by the total amount of points a player gathers from time-limited events. Only the first five events of every week that the player participates in count for the Racer League. |

Hi mates! What's up? I got a few ideas for the Leagues.
First of all, how about "Inverted Pre-/suffixes"? I don't know if either this idea was already written by someone or it is even possible, but it is quite funny. As the title says, the Effects of the Pre- and Suffixes are invertet. That means, the "Healthy Boots of the Inuit" don't grant i.e.: +15 max life and + 7 cold resistance, they grant you very exquisit -15 max life and - 7 cold resistance. My second idea would be "The Search" Its similiar to the "Ironman" but slightly harder. In witch way, you ask? Well, every mob drops only 1 - 3 Items. Whats the clue? Its hard. Also i got a third idea, just comming into my mind. "Lucky Charm" Somewhere in the World is a strange Chest/Mob/Dungeon/whatever, spawning randomly with the "Lucky Charm" With only 100 people to search for this Item. At the End of the time period, whoever has it, or is closest to it, wins. That are my three Ideas for Leagues. Have Fun! uamfg

Uniqueness League (raw idea)
A league similar to default where all the characters must be at least 10% different in the passive tree. As soon as you create your character, you get all the passive skill points, and you have to create your build, when you are done with it, the system will compare it with all the passive trees of the current characters, and will let you pass if you create the build with at least 10% of difference to other builds, then as you level up you are only allowed to take the predefined passive skill points. What about a league for keen low level duelers
-level cap will be level 30 or 15 depending on the league. -last area in the league for level 30 could be twilight strands cruel diff make hilock random bosses from the whole game, also make the boss viable for mf runs/exp -make rushing viable so people can leach -Increase drop rate of uniques -make common currency including regal and exalted availible at a vendor for free -so the point of the league will be to make the best posible level 30 and then duel for fun. Do somthing similar for level 15 -Different pvp games eg. free for all, 4 v 4, ladder, even do wage pvp betting items or high end orbs etc. what do you guys think? League Idea: A mix of Normal and Cut throat.
Each zone has a "difficulty range" in it that is roughly ~10 levels above and below the "Monster level". This is the level range that players can PvP eachother. If a lvl 60 enters Cruel where the monster level is 30, he would not be permitted to attack other players since he is too high of a level. This can be done as a set base range (10 levels) or a % range meaning higher levels can have a higher level range of pvp... At a 20% level range a lvl 30 monster area could be PvP-able between lvl 24-36. At level 37, a player can kill mobs but not engage in pvp. At monster lvl 60, the PvP range is 48-72 meaning the later you get into the game the harder (pvp-wise) it becomes... If a player dies he drops all his inventory + 1 equipped piece of gear (chosen at random). He then wakes up in town with no inventory and all his gear minus 1 piece. The advantages: 1) World PvP i still promoted and a main focus. 2) You can make "twink" characters for common areas for PvP in the set level range. 3) PvP is still "hardcore" in that you lose items, but not ALL of your gear (a little more forgiving) 4) Relieves "griefing" of high levels in low areas. |

To expand on the idea above. The other option is to incorperate this into the "default" league by making a ctrl click on instance to bring up the option of going into the "global" version of the zone where the cutthroat pvp is enabled where you drop 1 item + inventory upon death.
This allows players to play in their own protected zone, or to rush into the open pvp instance where you can kill other players... I think this would be a nice way to make more hardcore pvp available in Default. Championship League:
Amount of players must be an even number. Every X time all players are randomly matched in a 1v1 event, players that lose are diqualified from the Championship. Semi Finals are best of 3. 3rd place match is best of 3. Grand Final is best of 5. Different prizes are awarded to 3rd, 2nd and 1st place A similar mode could be done dividing the players pool in half (Higher level brackets/Lower level brackets). Players that lose in the lower level brackets get disqualified. Players that lose in the higher level brackets descend to the lower level. |
