Your League ideas

I was thinking something like a hardcore race league. Only __ amount of people could enter and would keep going until the last man standing died
I had a similar idea to du3lingdragon, just my name for that is Ultimate Survival.

Either more casual quick leagues, with system like less deaths from mobs in specific location, with a timer that counts time spent in location with mobs. For example, winner is person who had less death in loaction A while being in location A's wilderness for 5 hours.
My Idea:
Have a chain of leagues, 10 would be appropriate. Accomplishing a certain objective would grant you access to the next league in a chain. Difficulty would get progressively harder and the tasks would get more complex as you progress. After league 5 or so hardcore mode could be added and all-zone PvP at league 7. Players could respawn in league 5 and try to work their way up if they get killed. Once league 10 reaches a specific number of people(20?), it gets closed off. Players get rewards according to the league they were in when the event closed off. The 20 players in league 10 would be presented with a difficult, preferably epic boss encounter, which would give them extra rewards should they beat it.
The chain would be open for 2 hours a day to prevent cheating via account sharing. Completing the entire event would take up 14 hours from start to finish without dying + 1 hour for those in league 10 for the final battle.
Getting into league 10 shouldn't grant you total security tho, so some active quests could be added for extra rewards to encourage not instantly logging off when you reach league 10.
A marathon version could be added, featuring no time restrictions so that everyone can rush to the end as fast as possible.
It shouldn't be hard to implement really, as it only uses the current league demotion/promotion system which is already in place in the Hardcore league. The content in the leagues could be recycled and scaled up. A new design would always be nice for the final boss, but that can be recycled as well if needed.
Overall, i think this league chain could add a lot of extra content for little extra design/coding, and competing with others for the fat loots could be a fun and competitive experience.
1. How about a death race mode, where periodicly the players are gathered in an encampment and must try to be the first to make it to the next (without using waypoints of course) with full all on all PvP enabled.

Players in a league like this would have extra insentive to focus their builds on movement speed skills

2. A kind of tower defense style game mode where unending streams of enemies head towards the encampment entrance and the players most stop them crossing the threshold

Hardcore Attrition- players race to reach level X, every hour the lowest lv players (4 of them) are forced to fight each other, the winner of the 4 gets other players loot + 1-3 levels, and this would continue until 1 player is left.

Sounds very cool.

Actualy i prefer this attrition mode, than the normal one.
I would love to see some kind of league that is similar to ironman except it is some form of Guild vrs Guild. Where a guild works together to progress against another guild or guilds.
Not sure if already posted...

A hard core Cut throat league. When you create a character on this league you have a small chance of having an Item that is tagged a drop on death and adds a glow effect.

The first player to get to a predetermined point with item in their inventory wins.
IGN: Wrathmar * Paulie * Client
Not sure if this has been suggested. But what about a league that allows party damage. That would force party members to play strategically instead of just click spamming and rushing through the levels. Players would not, however, drop their gear when killed. Instead, they drop an item that represents their spirit. If the other party members bring the item back to town, their dead friend can revive and continue to play on the server. To make it hard, town portals do not work on this league or are extremely limited.

One thing I did in Titan Quest was a Skill-less, Hardcore, Ironman character that ended up being much more fun that I had anticipated. The only downside was that gear did not have durability, so the only thing Ironman did was prevent me from buying potions and stuff (which actually started to matter in China, since there are so few chests/piles/etc).

The skill-less part was quite interesting. I could place my stat points from leveling up, but I could not choose any class, and thus could not gain skills or gain the additional stat bonuses from putting points in the main trees. This also means that I was extremely limited in what gear I could equip.

I did this with two characters, the first one made it to the pyramid in Egypt, where I miss-clicked in the black space and got stuck on a wall, the second made it to the gargoyle boss on the Great Wall in China, where there just wasn't enough room to maneuver. Both were extremely fun characters, two of my three favorite characters I have ever made in TQ.

How would I translate this to PoE? How about a Hardcore, Ironman mode where items have no slots (or no gems drop, but you's also need to remove them from quest rewards)? Additionally, they could drop the points gained from the Passive Tree down quite a bit, perhaps 50% or even 25%.

Granted, I'm not sure how feasible this would be, or if there would even be enough players to make this worthwhile.
