Please do not release Seraph Wings MTX in their current state
+1 for awful. I have the seraph armor set and I love it and I look forward to making a 2H knight-type character just to use them, but these wings are just absurd. MAYBE if they flapped while you walk or made you float instead of walking, but then again probably not because they're just absurd.

If this were happening closer to April 1st I'd think it was an April Fool's joke. Because that's what these wings look like, a joke.

I actually quite like them. Been looking forward to getting some sort of back attachment, as the current options (not including supporter packs) are limited to one.

" What is this "subtle Wraeclast atmosphere" you're talking about? Perhaps some glowing steampunk clockworks? Perhaps some Star Trek style shield bubbles? Perhaps some Ghost Rider knockoffs? Perhaps some Rhoa babies with tin wings? Perhaps some exploding lightsabers? Even without microtransactions the game is "bright and cartoony" - just go to Docks until you find a magic/rare voidbearer, visit any sewer for a magic/rare Undying Grappler, or take a trip to the caverns in Act 1 for Amarissa and Ambrosia. And let's not talk about how "bright and cartoony" pretty much all aura effects, Kaom's Heart and Aegis Aurora look, mkay? Pray tell me where you've found that "dark gritty" style people are clamoring about so much, because I can't fucking find it in the game. " *Looks at all the whine threads about Invasion* *Laughs* |

I will not be buying those Maplestory wings.

![]() These would look cartoony. The Seraph Wings are not cartoony at all. They look awesome. They do fit with the tone of the game. Tons of us like it. If you don't like it, don't buy it, let us have it. |

I've mentioned this in another thread but as it's relevant here I'll repeat myself and go into a bit more detail.
I've always felt that PoE had a distinct art style, and that this applied full-force to the base game, while microtransactions were allowed to be a bit out-of-place based on the expense and availability of the microtransaction. A lot of the microtransactions in the store are pretty reasonable, with the more questionable ones being more expensive. The more expensive a microtransaction is, the lower amount of players are going to own one. Limited edition is a factor too; the eternal weapon effect is absolutely ridiculous and art-breaking, and I had zero problem with it because not only did it cost $1,500 but once the game released it became forever unavailable. Same with the glowing kiwi that has a beam of light on it at all times; that's pretty ridiculous for wraeclast too, but how many exist, 250~? How many players log on daily, 250,000~? I don't think anything thus far has broken this theme of "the more ridiculous it is, the less common it is", and I was always okay with that. When the Release supporter packs came out, and the top tier $900 microtransaction was a back attachment that looked like tiny crystal wings, my reaction was "As far as 'wings' go, these are pretty pathetic, but GGG has always made the supporter pack microtransactions so much fancier than anything in the shop - this seems to be GGG's way of saying "We're never adding wings, this is the closest thing you're getting, and barely any players will have them." Fast forward to now; these seraph wings are not only way fancier than the conqueror back attachments but they aren't even limited. I'm imagining these are only going to cost about 300~ points, though I could be wrong. In short, I'm less concerned about how it looks and more concerned about how common it's going to be. It also sets a worrying precedent that future supporter pack items will be trumped by later common microtransactions that cost a fraction of the price, which could harm GGG's sales.
Spoiler
I actually do like them visually :( A white/blue version would look amazing with the race season 5 gear.

I'm almost afraid to post, but I think these wings look awesome.
I think it's a far-cry to compare these to the Razer footprints. I can't speak for anybody but myself, but the issue that *I* had with them was that it felt like I was being advertised to. It felt the same as seeing a McDonald's or Hewlett Packard logo in the game. As far as the aesthetics of it, I don't think it's any different from glowing, or shocking footprints. I think they may not be for everybody, sure, but the "Godly / Angelic" appearance looks really cool in my opinion and I'd like to see more of it. |

agree, dont wanna quote self second time but this wings will rape whole feel of the game.
When GGG start raping MTX that would be true "Fiasko" not a invasion league. Go on wikipedia read something about Hussars, i know that Poland is fucking away from New Zealand but atleast you will get idea how to do wings which fit full plate armor and a game. You already used real medieval helmets for design... ▄█▀█▀█ Last edited by Madus#4524 on Apr 28, 2014, 1:37:38 PM

I have to agree with the sentiment that these wings are much more interesting and grandiose than the ones available from the supporter packs.
It feels like the release of this MTX would make the ones that were purchased for 200$+ are pretty worthless. Perhaps if this MTX was provided free of charge, or at least at a reduced cost based on the supporter pack you've already purchased, it would be fair. It's as if they offered a basic car for 5000$, then a few months later, released another much nicer looking vehicle for a fraction of the cost. It's pretty underhanded, as it compels those with the original car to want the new one, at an additional cost. IGN: Bravo_Thirsty
