Didn't work sorry. "I have been searching for a fix to this problem as well. I started tinkering a bit with the firewall settings, noticed some duplicates of some of the exceptions and thought it strange. Tried removing all the entries with Path of Exile AND Steam and letting them pop up again and of course letting them connect. And success! I can now connect without any troubles, i really hope this can help with your problem since it caused me a lot of frustration. So a quick recap. Go to Control panel > Firewall > Allow program > find the PoE AND Steam > remove exceptions and re-open the programs and confirm the access. Hope it helps." Kind Regards. Toby Edit: Oh well, it worked for one session and decided to start with the "Failed to connect to instance" messages again, i will keep searching and post if i find anything, i will leave the original message in case it can help anyone else with a hint for a fix. Edit2: I have now added myself as an exception to my routers firewall, and have had a couple of successful sessions, so far so good. If this changes i will let you know. i have a 50% chance when changing maps to get disconnected. Loved the idea of the labyrinth , but can't do it...

have the same issues. just start new character on breach league and after ending 2nd act got disconnected with 50% chance on map changing :(

Loving the support from POE employees on this issue (hard sarcasm)
The Lab is essentially a no-go zone for me. Every time I level a new character it takes me 1-2 hours to complete each Lab difficulty because of fails to connect to instance when changing areas. Every time I bring up this issue in the forums I just get bombarded with stupid comments about my internet & hardware being trash, & in the end I get no help whatsoever. |

Been playing POE for 180+ hours on steam and before steam release on stand alone client.. but with of problems...that i really have no clue on how to fix: 1. I live in Iran, internet here is very weird like China, blocked censored and for most sites[even steam site] i must use VPNs to access. 2. I can only access three servers wihtout VPN: California sjc.login.pathofexile.com London lon.login.pathofexile.com Moscow mo.login.pathofexile.com i have no clue why. with VPN i can access most but ping goes above 350+. 3. I've been plying on uk and ru servers till ive got to stornger maps, yes after level 5 maps, most maps give me "FAILED TO CONNECT TO INSTANCE" and i cant tell exactly which maps(example: Castle Ruines[7] map) but i am sure its not server side...cus ive tried on RU and London and california and all three drops me out of the game to menu. 4. I've done most things mentioned on the major help topic: https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/73322, reinstalled the game, verified integrity of files with steam, even checked with PackCheck, set luncher options -gc 2, tried all directXs, turned on/off post processing, multithreading, anti aliasing... I am having the same issue and it is quite annoying, disconnected when entering next zone of lab and now I cannot log in again.... This issue needs to be fixed.
