Item Rarity is too overpowered, and surely ruins odds for non-MF players

The only difference between high mf and low mf characters I noted was that the former gets a ton of shitty rares which u vendor for chaos recipes.

I never found mf to be worth stacking, it does not seem to increase the odds of getting the really good uniques by much.

IIQ was really good but its gone now, and i dont like IIR. I was running a 350 iir/120 iiq summoner prior to the new leagues and all I got was tons of tons of useless rares.

Doesn't this sound normal? The rarity doesn't affect the quality of the drops, just gives you more drops, of which some might be high quality. If you are normally dropping 1 yellow sword, with MF you will be dropping 2 or 3 yellow swords for the same time invested, which will eventually result in finding a good yellow sword much faster and more time efficient than a normal character would.

And this is because of the way the whole thing works, there is no such thing as a fixed chance to drop, say Kaoms Heart, as far as I can see. You first roll a chance to drop an item, then you roll a chance for which rarity it will be (white, blue, yellow, unique), and then you roll a chance to drop one of the uniques from the pool of that base items uniques.

Correct?
Life is tough... but it is tougher if you're stupid.
I don't think IIR is a bad thing, and it should not have died with D2.

You have the option like everyone else to make a character to do MF runs at the cost of lower survivability / dps.

Myself so far in invasion, have opted to go for MF runs in maps because I have lost so many characters already, and it would be very hard to gear up a new character every time without the reserve funds stashed away.

I also play solo, so I can't benefit from a full party with good clear speed. I think high dps and good clear speed gives you just as good odds of finding a good unique as a MF character.

I don't think having 200 IIR gives you much higher chance of getting a Kaoms Heart drop for instance, so wouldn't it be logic to kill as much as possible, in as short time as possible for better chance of getting those godly items? Not sure about this, just speculation.

Without IIR I'm not sure if I would be able to get the motivation to roll a new char again after a rip, and start from square one without anything.

That's my take on it anyways.
I'm all against the current MF system due to the incredible ranged advantage over melee.

I have seen some RF builds with well over 300 IIR. That's melee, and I'm sure other melee builds could get some IIR on gear as well.

If you want to check it out, I think ColbyCheeze got a MF character using RF.

And the price of the gear is?

I know, and how does that make any sense?

I wouldn't really know what the price is. I'm sure you can research that. Even if it was a bit more expensive to do that particular build, it is still possible, and that build as far as I have seen is very tanky and reliable.

I'm sure if you put your mind to it, you could make a different melee build to do MF runs. I wouldn't say ranged character necessarily have an advantage over melee.

That is if you insist on going melee for MF.

I was implying on the difference in gear price.

It's indisputable that melee MF character costs a lot more than a ranged one, in the leveling environment, of course.
Not to mention that, in some cases, you can't even make a MF character (300+ IIR) in the whole build.

Ranged characters do have an incredible advantage over melee in MF, the practical situation speaks for itself.
