Probably something along these lines even though I'm having a hard time decidin. I'm basing this of the amount of time and enjoyment I have gotten out of them.
Counter strike 1.6 and source. There's just so many maps, gamemodes, and different ways to enjoy these games, I have probably spent 1000+ hours in these games combined. Skyrim. I have a level 60ish nord with all questlines completed and pretty much all unique items collected. Oh and almost the entire map discovered. Heroes of Newerth. It doesn't matter if your'e playing serious or not, this game is so much fun. Many many hours have been spent goofing around as well as trying hard to beat the oposing team. Can proudly say that I managed to get to right beneath the 1700 psr bracket in beta coming from a start at 1100 psr. Warcraft 3. Custom games only pretty much. I don't even need to explain do I? If I had not played Skyrim as far as I have. I would have asked if you were crazy for naming Oblivion. But now, I see why you chose it. The quests were far supperior.

Besides the beautiful landscape and exploring almost everything about Skyrim felt generic. After seeing awesome quests from both Fallout and Oblivion I would have imagine there would have been some depth but it was sadly just paper.
I know The Witcher is different game than Skyrim but the Nordish lifestyle seemed a little more authentic in it. Skyrim just felt like Oblivion in a different setting - any depth or variety in quests. Funny thing is that the game actually got GOTY... If you were to talk about the flaws about this game about 8 months a go you would be flamed all over. The lack of Final Fantasy 9 in this thread is HIGHLY disturbing.
As is the lack of Parasite Eve 1. |
