Would you pay to have GGG focus exclusively on fixing the game issues but no new content?

No because they really aren't that bad. Plus GGG improves the game with something every patch.

I was just reading some other threads and from what I understand GGG claims that they cannot fix the desync and lag issues that plague the game. That it is impossible, or at the very least beyond their capabilities. This may very well be the case, but from the responses I've read and from my own limited knowledge of programming it could be possible to fix the engine if they worked at it or perhaps hired an expert(s) to do so, perhaps even transferring it to another more stable game engine.

The only problem with this is that it would take time, and they would not be able to focus on new content, which brings on new players and revenue for them to keep going. I like new content but I'd like a game relatively free of the issues it currently has. Now I know they won't be able to ever get rid of all the lag/desync issues as that is the nature of online games, but I feel that if even half the issues were resolved myself and many others would be satisfied.

Basically what I am proposing is instead of using the money from the store and packs to create new content they use it to focus exclusively on fixing the games issues, along with hiring an expert programmer(s) perhaps. Would you as a customer support them knowing that there won't be new content for some time but that eventually the desync and lag issues would be fixed?

Just want to know others opinions and thoughts, particularly the hardcore players and those who have purchased the more expensive supporter packs.

No but i would pay you to stop thinking that all game devs can do the same job, they have people working on graphics and others on map design and what not, you think all devs should be able to do every damn job there is in the company?

I worked in fashion for example but i could totally sell you apples but surely not tell you where they came from or anything. Same with game devs, everyone has their specific job to do.

Desync = Autohotkey.

Graphics = get a better rig

So what issues are there?

I've played POE on a $5k (AUS) gaming rig and I've played POE on a $2k Alienware laptop (plugged into a wall screen TV =P) with little difference.Quite possibily my end,but I'm not at all stoked with the issues as a whole to care working that out. =P

I do agree with you about developer jobs though. =)

1. open trade chat
2. roll burning/shocked ground map

3. roll flame sentinels (optional)

see FPS dumstered
fire effects are somehow make issue moar visible

that's even without shadows with 100% solo play

and I have beefy machine (only video card is ~5 years old)

now in Invasion this is even more of an issue because there are fire effect heavy bosses
(totem boss from Domi fight puts vaal fireball totems) and fighting boss is exactly when you do not want low FPS

so what you're telling me is to buy another $500 video card
Microsoft is known for having a period when everyone was busy fixing security bugs and nothing but.

GGG can't afford that.
First, it's much smaller.
Second, gamers unlike businesses have very short attention span.

Yes i am. 5 years is way too old in the digital age. You want to play games from 1 year ago or so you can do that with a PC who is from 2012+ and 5 years is a bit too old.

it runs Rage fine

when these FPS drop situations happen I hear my CPU fan not my GPU fan
i often compile code with full 4-core load and that's the sound of it

The elemental ground effects use up a lot of fill rate. Which is pretty much 100% graphics card. Same with smoke clouds and other large effects covering a lot of screen space.

Also you cant really compare PoEs engine and IDs new engine. There is a bit of tier difference there. Also one of their big goals for that engine was having crazy high res graphics run on really shitty hardware *cough consoles* . Im sure if we were offered their engine to use for free back in the early stages of development we would have taken that offer in a second :P
