STOP NINJAS - FIX LOOT RULES FOR GODS SAKE

Seriously i'm not sure about you guys, i've encountered so much frustration when joining groups due to the loot system. It's putting people off, can you please change the amount of time someone has to pickup their rare drops. I mean seriously by the time you go to pick it up a typical NINJA has. This looting system supports ninjas and seirous F**** grouping again.

PLEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEASE allow for several seconds for someone to loot their stuff. Man what can i say, i see great drops and everyone stopping killing mobs just to ninja shit. They say it was one small step for man but a huge step for humanity when landing on the moon. In this game it's You one step forward and your group mates 2 steps back.

Fix IT.

A little bit forward, but I do agree. It would be nice to see the timer extended. Its not just on boss mobs where a huge amount of loot drops, it also for normal farming, where the melee are standing on the loot and the casters being at the back. The timer is up by the time a ranged gets to one piece of loot, and it is by far worse with multiple loot.

This system does reward the fast on click, not the luck of rng. I like the system. I just feel the timer needs some adjustment

The name on the loot is only there, to illustrate what player the timer is measuring from. Let me explain:
The loot was originally thought to be free for all. Over time, developers and testers understood, that this became a great disadvantage to ranged players. Therefore a system was made. The item picks a random players in proximity to the mob that dropped it. From there the system calculates that player's distance to said loot, and from there a timer starts.
Players are NOT, I repeat NOT meant to be entitled to items because their name is on it, it's only on there to show what random player the timer picked before making the item available to everybody.

If your quote was from a dev then they(IMO) are condemning the group system, not for friends grouping, but random grouping. There is no way in hell I am going to play a ranged in a random group to have some loot whoring melee class is able to be standing on top of the boss at the time of death and spam click the shit out of all, as by the time I, a ranged, gets to the vicinity of the loot, the timer is already off.

Maybe I just play wrong... maybe i should just let the rest finish killing the boss/mob and be ready to pounce, hell lets all do it.... lots of shit will die then....

If this is purely meant to be a "free for all" loot system then I suggest it is changed so we can choose which system the group will use. "free for all" or "roll" system.

I feel, GGG did, in some way, encourage loot ninjaring, due to the monetary system. While I am not complaining about the monetary system, as I think it is a refreshing change, I do think it makes people want ALL the loot to vendor for Orbs, whether its the next big upgrade for the other player, in group, or not.

But, this is just my opinion

An option to change loot system would be great indeed.
While most of us understand that the timer is based on proximity, the feeling of knowing that a Unique drop was taken because you couldn't make it in time is awful(due to mob spacing/blocking/or issues wit dieing on HC). On top of this, in any organized group the practice of loot rules applies to every single group. If someone from my guild/clan was to try to FFA in a group then he/she would be kicked instantly with the blessings of the other party members. I would like to see 1-2 seconds added on Hardcore parties thought.

Just today lost some unique to random mara.
Current loot system is really unfair for ranged classes.
At least triple the delay, but best solutions is to implement group loot options (FFA for friends play and Roll for publics, of cause with delay if leader try to change just immediatelly before boss kill).

I'm freaking out, the looting needs a total makeover. Again as ranged player I'm in a group and ofc melee just grab what they please. So the meaning of a group is "work together to achieve a COMMON goal".

In plain simple words is it fair to say that you don't deserve any loot for your efforts in a group. People are putting in their efforts and are being robbed and I truly can't believe how there are people in this post supporting the system. It's RUBBISH.

For those who do support the current system then it's obvious you like to go to work and not get paid while your other colleagues do. I feel sorry for you.

I've played melee and ranged and regardless i've never seen so much ninja looting in a game. Obviously this is going to test the developers to see if they can really code up something fast and fix it or either just let it sit there because they can't come up with the code and figure an excuse to say to the player base and say it's a good system. This is where they will be tested compared to other mmo support teams. As we say what is the benchmark or limit these guys are at.
