Work okay on Surface Pro 2?
I just vaguely remember some Penny Arcade thing saying Gabe was using his for some games. I can't remember which ones or how simple they were. That's why I figured I'd ask the PoE community. So you're betting no then?

Heres a surface pro 2 running battlefield 3. Still, anyone who wants to pay more than 100$ for a tablet is stupid, there is no need for tablets when phones exist and even 1000$ is able to buy a good gaming computer that is able to run all games currently available on ultra. My comp parts cost around 850$ in total and runs bf4 on 60 fps. Please dont be stupid and buy it. |

I use my tablet for playing casual stuff... like candy crush or video poker. Mostly I use it as a quick check of the internet or email when I don't feel like getting off the couch. It's handy on trips too. But to devote $1000+ to a tablet... you better have some pretty specific needs.

Alright, you guys have convinced me. No reason to do my first tablet experience with a $2k trial run. Gaming computer and crappy tablet it is.

" The two are not mutually exclusive. The Pro is laptop hardware in a tablet format. Hook the tablet up to a monitor and USB hub while at home, unplug and go when you leave. The only issue is graphics quality. Don'g expect to game at max video settings. As long as your don't mind adjusting the video settings down, I don't see an issue. The same statement holds true for any laptop. I've spent plenty of time with a 17" laptop hooked up to a 24" monitor running games at homes. No issues without a dedicated video card as long as I turned the video settings down. That said, I currently have a gaming computer, a Linux laptop and an ipad mini. I use the device most appropriate for any given task. Any fool can criticize, condemn and complain and most fools do. Benjamin Franklin Last edited by Artanthos#0192 on Feb 26, 2014, 1:43:19 PM

Based on the technical specifications I would really advise against it. 1.6ghz CPU is extremely slow and integrated graphics generally are not good for gaming.

I play on a surface pro 2. The 4th gen i5 along with a full ssd handles poet quite well to be honest. I play mainly on my desktop, but a few hours a week on the pro and it is perfect.

" Never ever consider purchasing a Surface Pro. I own one and it feels like the redheaded stepchild of a computer and a pad. If you want a small portable pc you're much better off with one of those 13" laptops, many of them even have a touchscreen and you can flip the screen and use it as a tablet. |

don't like Surface. horrible value for money.
will it run PoE? maybe. can you actually play PoE on it without losing your mind? no. I need actual full-size controls and a normal-sized screen. Alva: I'm sweating like a hog in heat Shadow: That was fun Last edited by johnKeys#6083 on Feb 26, 2014, 3:25:34 PM
