I'm new to ranger (and the game in general) but in the most recent patch didn't they remove the ability to shock from lightning arrow? Is wrath enough to proc it enough to justify the points spent now?

Static Blows and the node directly below it grant a 10% chance to Shock targets when hit with Lightning Damage.

This is compounded by Lightning Arrow's ability to hit 3 additional targets which, when paired with G/LMP and Chain allow for closely knit packs to be hit for up to 9/15 times depending on whether Lesser or Greater Multiple Projectiles are used; thus exponentially increasing the chance to add Shock stacks.

I dare say you could even throw in Elemental Proliferation to triple stack very quickly, but generally Lightning Arrow is efficient enough to wipe out packs well before EP can set in.

Addendum: There are other skills such as Ice Shot that can function just as well so long as Wrath is used. Ice Shot particularly, when paired with Area of Effect increasing nodes is very potent as it does not have a limit to how many targets it can hit as well as the fact that each arrow in the chain explodes in a cone behind its target.

People may want to explore these options as well.

Theres almost no limit to what abilities you can use with this build. Personally, I haven't experimented very much.

Hi MartinCreek.
When did you stop leveling your auras? Did you just max them all out or did you stop at some point? I would love to know this. :)
Don't stop leveling ANY abilities, the only reason they shouldn't be leveled is your lack of int :) Which will come by time.

Could you please post some sort of progression? Like what your build should look like at lvl 20-30-50 etc, not sure when I should take nodes like Iron Grip, since they take 7 points to get without having good nodes on their way.
And are you sure you can get 108 skill point? Most builds I have seen are planned with 80-90 points.
Could you make a 80 point build with the "core" nodes?
Been pondering this:

The 3 armour-points in the Marauder-tree
vs
Taking 3 points into Templar for "Body and Soul"

Instead of:
43% armour
2% movement speed

You get:
30% armour
28% energy shield
10% all elemental resist
10 strenght

The energy shield is more or less a waste, it's the 10% ele resist that appeals to me. Those 13% armour isn't gonna make you a big tank, but once in Merciless those 10% extra resist really does help to ease up on the extreme resist-gear.

I've gone with the resist for now, and i guess it's more a matter of taste.
Updated thread with abilities and rearranged 3 nodes into the armor nodes near berserking at the bottom.

-48% Armor
- 2% Movement Speed

+50% Armor.

I am currently using a physical bow, and that was the plan from the start.

Now i'm working on crafting a high elementa bow, so that I may remove my iron grip and focus fully on elemental :)

so you plan on going full elemental?

What about keeping the iron grip and get Lionseye's glare :)? think it's an okay option for a bow

Martin if I may suggest, using reduced mana cost support gem for all your aura, it save alot of the reserved HP.
