Microtransactions a bit too pricey?
You're not the only one that thinks this, not at all.
I'm a guy who plays a LOT of games and spends way, way to much money a year on this hobby (according to the wife), lots in the way of "silly crap" in various micro transaction shops. I took one look at those prices (the weapon effect ones), laughed and put my credit card away. The QOL stuff such as the stash tab are right on target, or at least in what I've come to expect to pay for such items, but $20 for a weapon effect is a little over the top. |

They're not forcing you to buy anything ._______.

Pricing on the items are fine. Pricing on the points are a scam.

There are unlimited use item effects from 2,5$ up.
There will be even cheaper one-time-use ones. Wouldn't exactly call that pricey. Also, only source of revenue in an otherwise f2p game. So, yeah... |

Then get one of the $2.50 effects. There are things there for everyone. High price ones tend to be for those you have donated a lot of money to the company.

Everything in the store is necessarily overpriced, since the marginal cost of producing them is 0. This means that it's best for GGG to set prices that maximize the amount people spend on coins.
This obviously means having a lot of lower-priced content with a few pieces of higher-priced content. As it is now, however, I don't think there is enough lower-priced content. |

All im saying is I understand this is there only source of income but if they were smart about it they would realize that if they make there prices idk REASONABLE then they would get so much more of a PROFIT and the game will be SUPPORTED more. I love this game and i would hate to see it go away because ik many people who wont buy these Micro transactions because there so expensive. 50$ for a pet...

Considering that the microtransactions in PoE are not pay to win, I'm ok with paying a bit more. Most games would throw in some borderline pay to win stuff. The closest PoE gets is stash tabs.

I agree that they are a bit pricey.
Hopefully it will get more reasonable as time passes. Right now I imagine they are trying to soak up 2.5 million worth of pre-paid supporter points so there won't be a lot of NEW income coming in for a while. They must realize that if they price the vanity items more reasonably they will make a lot more money in increased impulse sales. 1000 sales at $20 each or 10,000 sales at $5 each? |
