[1.2] Oldschool, cheap and noobfriendly "Sword&Board" Marauder

hi, little update from my mara
finally bought an BoR
and made the links/colours, i realized that i cant handle the mana with concentrated effect so i use BM now, works better

need to change some jewelery and resis, BoR gave me a lot of dmg, is a nice boost :)
What where you using instead of BM?

This setup is pretty standard, if you one day can afford the mana cost (mana + mana regen gear and passives), you can still swap BM for Added Fire/Melee full.

wanted to use Life Leech, thought i can handle the mana issues with some manaleech on rings

played yesterday a couple of lvl70+ maps and realized that i have problems there, any advice ?

here my gear (will change gloves and the topaz ring)
Spoiler

have 4k life without gloves
my resists are:
without gloves and topaz ring / with gloves and topaz ring
fire 50 / fire 105
cold 80 / cold 80
light 45 / light 95
chaos -60 / chaos -60

anyone can give advice ?
So you want to replace the Blood Magic Gem with Life Leech?

Why?
You already have 4% lifeleech (2% from tree, 2% on ring), which should be enough for most situations.

If you really want, and i would say you shouldn't, then 1% mana leech will not be enough.

You'll have to get at least 2% leech, some mana affixes on gear and probably the mana nodes in Duelist and Ranger to make this work.
I usually go for an (unreserved) manapool that can support at least 2 multistrike reave attacks, with mana leech setting in after the first attack, this is enough to sustain full mana.

But: Stick to the BM gem. The life leech gem is a wasted gem slot anyways.

i will defenitley stick to BM, asked for any advice for gear changes to be able to play 73+maps accurate, advice for gloves and topaz ring

hi there, just found myself a BoR, made the sockets and links myself

Is this build viable from the Templar start point? thanks!
Wthyr
Not really.
Templar has no Shield Block in his start, so you'd have to get it somewhere else. And you'd probably not make it to Ranger Zone within 80 Levels.

With Templar, I'd rather go for a build that uses the shield block nodes in the upper left.

Could look like this:
Click me

But this will have serious Dex issues, you'll need Dex on Gear to use Swords and Green Gems.

Thanks a lot for this awesome and beginner-friendly guide! This is my first serious char on path of exile and this guide helped a lot! Over 16 k dps and cleaning maps very easy ^^

I have a question though, Would you consider this
a good shield for this build?

Or Should I keep my old one
?
