Achievement Design

Cool. I actually like the full clear achievements. Yeah, they're easy, but it gives players an incentive to explore an area that they would normally just blow through.
I would like to see an easier way to check achievements. I've been awarded with some only to think "What did I do?" I guess I can look at them on my account, but I wish there was a little window I could pull up that would give me more information. ...Then again, maybe there is, and I just haven't figured out where ^^
This game sucks!: Die to Hillock on your very first char
Running the gauntlet: Get to Merveil's cave in your starter gear, without killing any monsters and without dying
Loner: Have no-none on your friends list after 500 hours of playing
I'm so sexy: Have a full friends list after 100 hours of playing
RMT-King: Have a full set of mirrored items after 300 hours of playing
Lucky Bastard: Get 10 lv75+ maps in 10 consecutive lv75+ maps
I won't give up!: Play 300 hours without trading
Seriously, I won't give up!: Play 500 hours without trading
I mean it! I.WON'T.GIVE.UP!: Play 750 hours without trading
OK, I give up: Make a trade after 750 hours without trading

The All Ears achievement is basically impossible for most people.

It should be to listen to all the NPC dialog period, not just on one character.

Not only it's basically impossible to not miss something, but you have to create a character with the specific purpose of completing that achievement (since you MUST help the bandits and so you must include their "gifts" into your build) and to collect enough regrets to respec the bandit quests as needed to unlock the various alternate "kill" dialogues.
Also, if freeing the Scion brings up a dialogue option, then I definetely will never complete that achievement, since I had no chance to free her (I already finished normal in beta).

It breaks at least two of the rules for achievements given in the initial list, so removing the "on one character" condition could be a solution.
the running man.

complete the game without using any way points or town portals

love the sound of death.

play the game for 4 hours with the sound options all on max

curiosity.

identify all unique items

better late then never.

kill hillock with one hit in normal.

got to be good looking because im so hard too see.
How about creating achievement that specifically requires to try a build?

For example, to play as a Groundslammer, have a character that:
-has allocated Resolute Technique + Blood Magic + Unwavering Stance
-fully clears a level 50+ area using only ground slam

These achievement should encourage to try out specific build.

As a bonus, every build of the week could be converted in an achievement.

The drawback is that these achievement could easily be mistaken for blueprints and maybe the players will follow them without experimenting different things :(
My wishlist: Hi-res digital artbook
Allow spaces in character names
Vulkan and Linux support
Opensource the game

No more achievs that require specific build, please.
Personally, I don't like them, the Zombie Horde, the Ancestral Bond etc...

I also really dislike the ideas like "Run to Merveil in starting gear without dying" (Wth? Why? That would be annoying to complete I think) or "Shiled charge Dominus in 1 sec while he is praying to his Gods while the Gods are watching TV".
Some people might like these ideas, but I personally wouldn't want to see them in the game ;)

Unlike some other people, I like doing the Full Clear achievs, though :)

I'd like to see an achiev for killing both unique bosses on an end game map with "Twinned" modifier, I think it's a good idea for an achievement :)

And lemme repeat this one, juuuust to be sure it catches GGG's attention:
All Ears achiev needs reworking.
Either make the progress easier to track OR prevent the optional dialogues from disappearing OR remove the "...with one character" requirement ;)
I would welcome rewarding achievments like 30 min increased XP gain after gaining achievment or similar.

Achievments could provide achievment points working in a similar way like race points do.

If you implement achievments, let them make, at least, a little sense. That motivates players to obtain them and offers additional pursuit along with doing maps or doing MF runs.

I like very much Diablo 3 achievments like the ones, occuring after killing x mobs in a row. That is fun!

Here a couple of ideas:

Lived your life to the fullest
HC league: finish game in all difficulties and all end-game map then die

Fear of the dark / Did not see that coming
SC league: have minimum light radius possible, even none, for X seconds then die

Kill em all
Any league: full clear all normal maps in all difficulties + all end-game maps.
Over a million served: 1,000,000 million kills
Over a billion served: 1,000,000,000 million kills.

Baptism in Chaos: Survive 4 simultaneous viper strike charges.

Spectretastic!: Create a spectre of every enemy type.

General Who?: Defeat General Gravicius without reducing his shield to 0.
We fight to delay the end because it's the means that matter.
