Why I Don't Get Sick of PoE after a Year

Being an old fart by game standards, i find the fastest way to get sick of a game is to fully beat it. BiS gear, hardest content etc. For most games this isn't an issue, I am not going to replay the latest tomb raider even though I enjoyed the game. For an ARPG I would rather have years of enjoyment. By following a few simple rules I find this easy. I don't trade to much, finding gear and beating high level content becomes immensly enjoyable and repeatable. I don't playout one character, making new builds is awesome. When my char can do pretty much everything it is retired, even of it is lvl 80 or whatever. Avoid the latest bug build that will be nerfed next patch. While face rolling content is fun, the journey is more important for me. And last but not least, be nice in game. Hard to explain but the longer I go without making someones day the more boring the game becomes. Peace out boy scout.

Well, for one I hate the leveling part of PoE.
The part where it feels like you're playing with permanent Temporal Chains, the part you have to endure before being able to even create a build, the part you can play through without even having a build.

I know the feeling because that's how I felt during OB, but in reality this problem can be solved pretty easily by a combination of skill (mostly if hardcore) and ~10 chaos worth of leveling gear.

When I start a new character, unless it's a new league, I'll throw on Wanderlust and use two quicksilvers right away to get 'em moving,. Once you get a few levels you also have Karui Ward, then Foxshade. This'll get you to 40% MS (faster than most end-game builds I've done) by level 25.

You can also get very OP leveling unique weapons for 1 chaos a pop and one shot almost everything, so the attack speed being a bit low at the beginning isn't all that annoying.

It's actually one of the things I love about PoE, that there's many different skills to improve on in the game and not just the ability to play your one build very well in the end-game.

I know of the so called "leveling gear".

The problem remains.

At low-mid levels the builds are all the same, there's nothing defining about them. And sometimes they are completely whacked.

If I use leveling gear to arrive at merciless, though, I might be able to put all the required passives in the skilltree but I'll still have subpar gear for the rest of the gametime which will result in a lackluster broken build (no, I don't buy my gear).

As I stated in my first post, I think we should be able to make our build shine within a couple of months with good gear we find (not BiS, just good).
This means that without trading we should be able to gear our chars, feel good about them and move on to new ones.

This is the part that prevents me to find pleasure in rerolling: knowing that even though I might get to A3 merciless I'd still have to grind for months for mediocre gear.
And what happens after you have tried almost every build out there? Dont say try the new skills.. THey are just horrible compared to builds ive done in the past.. THats the thing, once you roll this insane build that allows for amazing dps, 350+iir, capped ress, just insane clear speed, you dont want to play these delayed specs that are just too inferior.. You feel like your doing yourself a disservice.
IGN Ken__Kaniff
I leveled atleast 10+ characters to 80+ inclduing the Hc ones that died.

At the time I was playing either character, they all had "top tier" gear.

K well thats all there is to do, level up different toons.

Lol subpar hardware?

subpar to what? a PC?

limited game selection what?

I enjoy both console and PC gaming, and ive done pretty much everything there is to do in PoE minus getting level 100.

Im suprised PoE held my attention for so long anyway as soley PvE games are boring as shit imho.

Plus ill play ESO from my ps4, and ill be building a new PC this Holiday season.

Ive also played PoE a LOT longer than 1 year. Probably has something to do with it.
