Why I Don't Get Sick of PoE after a Year
Because I roll new builds all the time.
You play one character to level 90+, find it boring? I'm not surprised. New characters, new builds, all the time. You'll enjoy the game much more. And no, not every character needs BiS gear. This ain't no MMORPG, explore possibilities. Many lewt.
Much desync. Such rewarding. Wow. According to forum mods "sandwich" is considered an offensive word. Who knew? |

Thanks for the tip.

I too find it strange when people say they get bored and blame it on the game. People don't learn how to have fun anymore. They substitute their work ethic for what they do in a game these days and consider their games jobs.

Well, for one I hate the leveling part of PoE.
The part where it feels like you're playing with permanent Temporal Chains, the part you have to endure before being able to even create a build, the part you can play through without even having a build. I tried rerolling, but knowing that it will take me 3 month to poorly gear even another char does not strike me as fun or entertaining. I wish I were able to make my char a demigod (meaning good gear, not BiS) and then pass on to the next one. Having 20 different chars that spam 20 different main skills with laughable gear is not what I play RPGs for... It's the same thing that happened in D3 for me: I could never let go of my main char because it took so long to gear him well enough to sustain MP6 that I could not bear to do it for all the others or even start it over to change build. Because in D3 like PoE, the only way to fully play the game is not playing it, AKA play the trading game. |

" I don't play 12hrs a day, every day. This is true. But I can, and have, leveled characters to 70+ within 2 days of creating them. I think many people are too focused on reaching the end game, they see the normal->merciless progression as a real chore and drag.
Of my memories of WOW, the parts I loved the most were in leveling old world/TBC. I would work out the best zones and quests for the most efficient leveling. Plan out gear and builds. There is a comfort to running through those leveling routes. You know each area so well yet can still enjoy its uniqueness and feel, just enough before moving to the next zone in your progression. POE is same in this respect. I can theory craft and plan when away from the game. Then I can zone out on it after a day at work. Enjoy the sound and feel of each area as I move through in progression. |
