Is desync still an issue?
I've been PoE for over a year now and I've died to desync maybe three times. Most people that die to desync just expect it to be "fixed" one day and vanish from the game forever. That won't happen.
If you play with a mindset that you can and will desync given certain actions, you will maybe slip and die to desync once every few or several months. Honestly I believe desync is just being used as an easy scapegoat for just bad players. Like player X runs into a room full of magic monsters with extra damage and after getting surrounded and noticing they can't kill the monsters without dying, tries to escape. Player X desyncs and dies to monsters. Desync killed the player and not the players poor judgement to get surrounded by monsters they couldn't kill. I wonder if GGG fixes desync to the point that it is hardly noticable and makes it so you can no longer alt+f4 to save your character how many people would just shift to that to complain about instead. |

" go and play a melee character with a singletarget skill without multistrike and then report back in. the game shouldnt give you options that it cannot support adequately | |
They aren't going to fix/remove it. They would have done so already, or they are just strapped for cash and just cant.

One of my first Nemesis characters was an infernal blow marauder without Multistrike because I like the big boom then slash feel that you get wtihout multistrike. He met his end in Merciless act 2 I believe to a storm herald in western forest. He leveled through the majority of the game without any issue with desync and yes I used leap slam as my mobility skill.
If you are going to say I just got lucky. I've done about 5 different variations of this build and none of them died to desync. You'd have been better off trying to prove your point with cyclone builds which everyone knows suffer greatly from desync. I've done a few of those builds too and while I desynced a lot... because I was aware that I WILL desync and it isnt' even a maybe, I again did not die to desync but my own fault by poor judgement. |

Yes it's a huge issue, but fanboys will just tell you to "deal with it" or "learn to play with it" or "play a different build" or "bye!" or all the above.
Oh, and also you'll have to get an /oos macro, a key-bind for alt + f4 and so forth. It's a joke. I don't know how to do macro's myself, and why in gods name would a game REQUIRE something like that? I mean it's ridiculous, let's be honest. Yeah, desync sucks, and it needs to be fixed or lotss are going to stop playing (lots have already stopped) and especially with the likes of Grim Dawn and other aRPG's hittin the market soon, desync HAS to be fixed for PoE to still strive for years to come. |

" Pretty much this. RoS and ESO are soon to hit the market too. |

Playing as Reaver it's definitely there. It's there a lot, but hey, at least we know that GGG are working on making it less noticeable.
But hey, what if the guys at GGG find out how to defy the laws of physics? "You can't bash someone else's shitty taste in music when you listen to 'grindcore'" -TheWretch̢

" Maybe they need to pick the brains of the people that made d2/d3/marvel because desync wasn't in that so they must have been defying the laws of physics for years now! |

Even when using desync-prone skills, it doesn't hinder me too much. I think some of it is conflated, blaming "desync" when in fact it's something else, like plain-old lag. I also think it has a lot to do with the computer/ISP you have - I have a pretty damn good computer and a fairly reliable ISP, so I've noticed I have a lot smoother of a time than many people say they have. (I don't use any macros)
I'd recommend playing again if you enjoy it, test out how much it impacts you. If you can hack it while still having fun, play on - it's a video game, it's meant to be fun. GGG knows that it's an issue, and they are working on ways to help alleviate it, but it will always be there, because the combat system they have in place (accuracy, enemy collision, etc.) makes it impossible to do a lot of things that other ARPGs can do to reduce it.
