HELP Game won't install "Checking Resources" for 14 hours now

Decided to bump my old thread from the dead just for the hell of it because I'm bored and pissed off.

Waited a few months for them to fix the installer before I decided to try again.

So yeah...

I deleted the old install files completely. Hidden files old content.gpk yes everything is gone. Even ran Ccleaner afterwards. I read ALL of the other "stuck at checking resources" threads and made sure I understood what everyone else was doing to get it to work (or not in some cases).

Redownloaded the installer. Disabled all my other crap AV firewall everything... Ran as administrator.

Stuck at "Checking Resources" for an hour just like 2 months ago LOL

Windows 7 64 bit plenty of room on the HD it's defragged no antivirus or firewall active wired internet connection with no router blah blah blah all same stats as before. Tried quitting and resuming NOPE still stuck at checking resources.

Frustrated beyond belief. I've installed, patched, and played online 6 other games (3 major retail games and 3 smaller games) with no problems whatsoever between my last post and now. The online patches didn't fail... My multiplayer connection didn't fail... No problems at all with any of them. My question is why am I only having a problem with THIS game?!? I know other people can play it no problem and it's frustrating to see that while not knowing what to try next... I just can't understand it... I've never had an issue for this long with any game even the most bug ridden ones of the past and there's been a few.

I'd like to say I'll just wait till it's out of beta but at this point I'm ready to forget this even exists and pretend none of it ever happened. Heh... :(

I would offer you to download the content.ggpk file, but I fear it wouldn't help you past current patch.

have you looked in the client.txt file for anything that might give a clue?

it's strange that the checking resources gets stuck even when the content file doesn't already exist.

Content.gpk exists in the drive I specified for the install. It's about 16,000 kb so pretty much nothing. Client.exe is the same around 7,000 kb. That's after letting the installer run for an hour or so.

Nothing in either of those files gives me any kind of help or clues. Got a GGG mod to respond once a long time ago. He suggested fixes I had already tried that didn't work. As far as I know there is no solution out there that will prevent this the installer from getting stuck on checking resources and pretty much none of the explanations make any sense. Someone even suggested I format my computer to get just this game to install haha. (WHich I would actually consider if I had trouble with other games... like ANY other game but I don't)

The mod suggested that my ISP (Time Warner) may be blocking some data from their server. It sounds absurd because Time Warner hasn't blocked any other game (blockbuster or indie) from installing and/or patching. I can't really argue that it's not Time Warner because you never know but they (TW) have no idea what's going on and don't really care so there's nothing I can do about that IF it is the problem.

Looks like it's just not in the cards for me. One day though I'd like to understand what happened. It's really just stuck in my head now. After 14 years of installing games I have never had a total fail like this.
Any solution to this problem yet, devs?
Go to Add/Remove Programs, Right-click Path of Exile and then Select Repair. This fixed the endless "Checking Resources" loop for me.
