HELP Game won't install "Checking Resources" for 14 hours now

First tried installing it to my D: drive with 737GB free space. Ran the installer "As administrator" let it sit for 6 hours no progress stuck in "checking resources". Stopped it and tried installing it to C: drive (23GB free space) "as adminstrator". Let it run 14 hours no still stuck in "checking resources". Also tried running the installer on both drives in compatibility mode for Windows XP SP2 with no luck. I'm out of ideas now and requesting help. I'm not willing to let this run more than the 14 hours I already tried. Should I just try back later when the game is out of alpha?

My comp stats:

Quad core i7 processor
4gb RAM
Nvidia 9800 GT video card
C: drive is a little full but plenty of hard drive space on other drives I tried
Disks are defragged regularly by windows 7 Pro
AV is disabled
No firewall or other security software running
Internet connection is rock solid
Never had issues installing a game before this one

Oh this is Windows 7 Pro 64 bit OS
All drives are NTFS (not FAT 32 so yeah I can handle a file size larger than 4gb)
In total I've tried the install 8 times now on three different drives with enough space each time letting it run for several hours with no progress past "checking resources" whatsoever.
Bumping for suggestions. Still stuck at "checking Resources" latest attempt is approaching 4 hours.

It's possible that your virus scan or firewall is causing problems, but the only sure bet would be to try downloading the game on another connection. It's likely your ISP is preventing some info going to or from our servers.
Balance & Design
When you installed did the installer by chance create the PoE folder on your drives? Have you tried deleting the the folder and it's contents and then re-run the installer? Seeing as how it's not successfully installing anyway it doesn't hurt to get rid of the failed folder then re-running the installer.

I had to do this once just to get the installer to re-check my resources to install properly.

I've disabled my windows firewall and AV protection when trying to get the installer to work.

Possible it's the ISP... But why would my ISP do that with just this game though? All my previous game installers/patch clients that I have run on this comuter and this ISP (examples include WoW, Diablo 3, Steam games, other F2P games like Planetside) haven't had issues nor have I even had to think of disabling windows firewall or AV protection which didn't even help in this case. If the ISP was the problem I suspect that I would have encountered other problems before this unless they are for one reason or another specifically targetting your patch servers. ALso TIme Warner has an ISP monopoly in this area so even if I lugged my tower to a friends house I would still be with the same ISP so that's not an option for me sadly.

In other news when I check client.txt it does seem to be updating what it has requested and recieved but I have no idea if it's really working or not. Like I said I've allowed this thing to run for 14 hours straight before with no results. Here's an excerpt from the last log update I checked.

Patch client still says "checking resouces" though. No updates. No download times listed or progress bar always "checking". The total size of Content.ggpk has remained unchanged the past 6 hours of this attempt.

Yes each time I cancelled the process I made sure to uninstall and then delete the failed folder. I also switch between 3 different hard drives (all NTFS) on each attempt.
Now ten minutes later client.txt says this...

Lots of queued and requested stuff... very few "got file list for" nothign saying that I actually downloaded some of the game at all. Content.ggpk remains the same size as when I began 16MB. Pretty confusing stuff.
Having the same issue, although it's only been 15 minutes.

Any ideas on this?
