Lag into disconnection.

Well, this is the result of the last tests we did.

Tested directly from the modem, bypassing all network equipement. Disconnect still happens.
I play on wireless and my friend uses a wired connection. Sometimes he disconnects and I don't and sometimes it is the opposite. Usually we both disconnect.

If one of us is in town while the other disconnect, we never have a problem.
We never disconnect from town (except for major wireless probleme with my connection)
But it seems it has nothing to do with what is going on. Sometimes it happens while fighting 3 screens of monsters at once putting maximum stress on the "sync" with the server. Other times we are simply walking in an almost empty maps looking for the last "x" enemies to kill.

I did try to use the Australia gateway, I sucessfully ran 7 "cata" and 1 map without disconnecting. But the ping. OH god! the ping. I lag but I almost never desync and I didn't disconnect.

Is it a tree branch hitting the internet cable somewhere along the way causing problems. Is it a GGG security check hating on our connection. Is it a relay somewhere in between us and GGG.

Well I'm tired of trying to figure this out. (WinMTR reports are always different each time) We asked the internet provider to have a diagnosis (again) running on our line. We'll see.

Have fun and an happy new year exiles!

same issue here... :(
Still happening frequently... Can pretty much only play standard because nemesis death to this bug is scary. So my nemesis ranger is on hiatus pretty much.

Please GGG look into and fix this asap.

Edit: Yup 3 times in the last hour I have lagged/frozen then disconnected several seconds later.

Im also having lag, suddenly and recently.
Buy the ticket, take the ride.
I found a solution that seems to be working for me.

I have an intel i7 4770k @ stock
16gb ddr3 1600 @ stock
EVGA GTX 780 @ stock

I was running the game at the highest possible settings and it ran fine. But I thought maybe this disconnection lag was from the settings.

I lowered everything to medium and turned AA down to Trilinear Filtering and I haven't had it happen again since. I also turned off shadows. I don't know if this will work for everyone. But I guess Path of Exile on Max Settings doesn't appreciate the newest line of nvidia cards maybe. Not sure, all I know is I'm not crashing right now. It's been 3 days since my last crash.
