Frenzy / Cleave DW Duelist Build

Generally, I don't understand why it is possible that you can spec so much crit. Isn't there the usual 100% cap? Or does crit have a diminishing utility like dodge?

Crit chance bonuses multiply your weapon's crit rate, which is generally around 5% (listed on weapon). So for example the Twin Terrors line adds +125% crit chance, meaning with no other bonuses you would have a 12.5% crit chance with a 5% base weapon.
I am level 57 with the build right now and I die wayyyy too easily. Either I am not killing mobs fast enough or I don't have enough HP, I don't know.

Using Warlords, Frenzy(5 charges w/ quest reward) w/ Life Leech, Viper Stike w/ Culling, Dual Strike w/ Faster, Cleave w/ LoH/Faster/Melee

Here is my build

right now. I have 3 points not yet used. Should I invest in more block? More life? More crit chance?

Here is my gear. I have been using that shield to help keep me alive with Molten Shield in it.
Spoiler

I need to upgrade my weapons and armor. Maybe add another Life on Hit gem? I have no chaos resist, but I have been leveling in areas where there isn't any.

I am thinking about transitioning to the Molten Shield build posted earlier, but I feel like if this is how the build is, DW Duelists are just not very good...

@nosl1w: If you're just getting into Merciless, your priority right now should be getting more +life and more resists on your gear. I don't think you need to worry too much about your weapons/DPS right now, especially since they're covering some of your Cold/Fire resists. If my math is right they're both under 20 in Merciless which is really dangerous, especially in Act 1 since that's going to be most of the elemental you're dealing with.

What's your life and armor sitting at right now (with Grace)?

How are you supporting Anger and Grace at the same time? I am finding my health pool is severely hindered trying to run both auras, i'm also finding Anger to be underwhelming considering the cost?

How many +Life nodes have you taken so far, and how much +Life is on your gear? Anger and Grace are flat reserve costs, so the more pool you have the less impact they will have against your total. You can also link them both to Reduced Mana to cut down on the amount they reserve.

I am currently level 40 with this build: http://www.pathofexile.com/passive-skill-tree/AAAAAgQABS0OrRHVFFIXHRjbG_ohYCXfKLUppTIJNJM6UkCgQ5xHflPfVgRXl1jbW69gQWBLYIhhUmNwZU107XTxeu-E2YTvhmCQCpstm4OeuZ_LpBmrxb6n3Q3fv-9O7-M=

I don't run with anger on at the moment because my HP is only 600 once grace is applied. I am finding it extremely hard to meet resistance requirements on Cruel at the moment, I have just killed Brutus but most of his attacks 1 shot me so it was mainly done by corpse running via town portals until he died.

I take huge damage from mage type monsters so I tend to use leap slam to escape when on low health. With Grace on I take 60% less damage from physical attacks but it still feels like I am made of paper.

Other skills I am using at the moment: dual strike, cleave (both with life leech support), frenzy (with cold damage support), grace, leap slam. Anger is also on my bar but I don't use it at the moment due to how squishy I am. I'm not sure where to head in the skill tree now as all the life nodes seem quite far off, and life will not solve my resistance issues.
Changed around some of my gear, my resists at the time were above 20 as well.

1433 HP
4512 Armor (btw Grace with Iron Reflexes is genius!)

75% fire resist
50% cold resist
55% lightning resist
-40% chaos resist

New equip
Spoiler

Think it's worth it to use some orbs on it to increase the resists / slots?

I am now level 58 and doing a lot better now, but still a feel a bit weak.
I did ledge runs for a couple levels to help me get some better gear and level up.

Should I prioritize getting to Fitness first? Then get the other 4 surrounding life nodes? I also think Finesse is a worth investment due to it being right next to the 2 life nodes, but +30 dexterity = +60% evasion = +60% armor. Correct?

When should I mix in some increased block/armor? I was also thinking about adding another LoH to the Cleave.

What is your opinion on block?
Do the increases in % outweigh the point use?

How's your build doing?

Once I finish Merciless I'll try and help you answer some of the questions that pop up on the thread more often. Hopefully I will be more knowledgeable by then.

@Oddgurth

I think your next few skill points should go towards getting the 12% health nodes on the Maurauder side.

Try running LoH and Faster Attacks with Cleave. LoH w/ cleave works better than life leach for me. This conjecture is from my experience.
I think "The life leeched is returned at a maximum rate of 20% of your maximum life per second." may explain why?
I'm actually curious as to which is better...

Also work on getting more resists through gear.

I sort of felt the same way, and still do. But I am fighting mobs that are OK w/ my resistances and/or 2 levels below me to help level me and get better gear. Ledge runs are good b/c the mobs don't use spells and you only need lightning resist for the one boss.

Your build really looks good and love the quick attack speed!!! I am LV 33 dual wielding swords dual strike and cleave,LS as main attacks (Shockwave with cold as backup). From watching your build it seems I have made some stupid choices in the start. I spend some regret points now to try to recoup some and try to steer my guy in the right direction

Any advice on how to best to go forward from here? (Is it possible to get back on track?)

Thanks!
Here is the build I have been working on. It is a much more defensive version of this build. Since I only play on hardcore I want to be as tanky as possible, even if it means it takes a bit longer to level up. My friends I play with are mostly ranged so I tend to soak most of the damage and fit more of a tank role. The main reason I am posting is to get your opinions on it and look for pointers. Also I used Steel Skin and Diamond Skin twice, do they stack?

How works block with dual wield? If u cant evade attack you still can block it with weapon? And how much damage will be blocked?

Taken from the wiki:
Blocking an attack prevents all damage and harmful effects including status ailments.
When an attack is blocked, the game first calculates if the attack would have caused a stun were it not blocked. If it would have caused a stun, the blocking animation is played, stunning you briefly. If it would not have caused a stun, then you get a "free" block with no animation. Faster Block and Stun Recovery and Increased Block Recovery modifiers reduce the length of the blocking animation.
The following formula shows the duration of the blocking animation in milliseconds:
Block Duration = 350 * (1 / ( 1 + Block and Stun Recovery + Block Recovery ) )
If you cannot be stunned, the block animation will never play.
Status ailments have no affect on your block chance, but frozen will prevent the block animation from playing if it otherwise would, and chilled will make it take longer to play (since those two work by decreasing the speed at which your character plays animations).
When dual wielding, the base chance to block is 15% no matter which weapons are used.
Usually only attacks can be blocked, but there are passives that grant a chance to block spells.
Block chance is capped at 75%. Although it may not even possible to achieve, the chance to block spells is also capped at 75%
