Set Items and Class Only

Are there going to be set items. I believe the answer is no, but I can't seem to confirm it.

Also if there is no set, is there items that power up when used together. Like two unique swords that a duelist uses that get stronger if both are found.

Is there going to be class specific items. For Witches, Rangers or Duelist only items?

We don't know about set items yet.

Class specific items go against our versatile class system so we're not having any of those. Of course, a unique maul that requires 500 strength is pretty much Marauder-only for all practical purposes :P

I never enjoyed the set items in D2. The items weren't very powerful on their own but finding the entire set was nearly impossible unless you actively traded for it online. Even then, most of the sets could easily be outperformed by random rare equipment.

yes, but maybe after release a new rarity class like legendary or something for high-end chars.
True, but those sets could be saved and collected for a new character your starting. IT would probably be very useful for training new character since there will be a shared stash.
Yes good sir, I enjoy slaying mythical creatures.
You don't 'need' set items to twink lower level characters.

I never really found set items to be useful in Diablo 2, but that seemed more like a design proplem and not a set-item problem.

Actually i was pointing out a benefit of sets not a weakness. What i mean is ya sure maybe that lvl 20 set is worthless to a lvl 30 character now, but to your lvl 14 that can equip it now it can be extremely useful.

Set items can be nice, but i agree in D2 they where barely worth how rare they where.
I remember using some here and there, but that was befor runewords became popular i think.

For me Set Items should offer some special Bonus u can only get from a full set, but without making it to powerful (and thats the real hard part)
-Maybe an extra support gem slot that would work for all skills on ur gear that can use this support gem.
-An extra potion slot maybe?

Well the unique items we have seen have been fairly powerful. The boots had a powerful albeit dangerous buff/debuff. I would imagine the set items to be more useful like the ones in Dungeon Siege 2 they handled the set items very well i think. They had multiple class sets with varying levels and effects.

I never looked at trying to attain a complete set of items as something to USE. I just wanted to try and find them.
