After soloing to 55 i did some party play, cruel piety/dom runs. It seems like while i can 1-2 shot anything solo, felt useless in parties due to the limitation on number of traps able to be carried. Thoughts on party play? and ways to up damage in party play?

I'm sorry to hear about your death Pohx, but glad to see your back to leveling a new Trapper - I'm sure we'll see some 'new and improved' feedback from you shortly :).
I've just hit 75 - and following your guide perfectly, I'm having some issues with damage in group (mainly because my of my horrid gear and lack of links). My questions relate to things I couldn't find in OP/throughout thread (lack of 'search within thread' is annoying): 1. With your CoDT gem you have it linked to Decoy Totem + Summon Skellys - after the patch, have you just left them at Level 1 or leveled up the associated gems? Have you had thoughts on changing this up? 2. Toward the end you started to experiment with your build (Lighting Trap, Shock Passive, AA etc) - as you level your new Trapper I'm sure your explain things/decide on a better late-game setup. But for us sitting around the 75+ I'm wondering what you suggest. Obviously the bread and butter of our build still remains: Fire Trap, Bear Trap, EK, Cold Snap with Enduring Cry and Grace. But with regards to CoDT links and Conversion Trap etc where do you see we should alter (if at all)? You mentioned AA, what was that replacing? 3. With regards to Eldritch Battery - is it suggest to take even if gear is lacking ES (I'm talking I have 89 ES haha)? Currently following your 'Final Build' passive tree and mine looks like this: My Trapper's Passives Yes I realize my gear is under-par - unfortunately this is my first Nemesis Character so farming Currency/Gear as we speak, just a little unlucky heh As levels start to get harder, I'm thinking I should pick up Eldritch now then move toward High Explosives - could taking Eldritch too early be a disadvantage? 4. Is there a general guideline to leveling gems? I assume the normal (Bear Trap/EK/Fire Trap and alike you just stay within your stat limitations) but for example Clarity - have you found a happy medium? I have a question: I'm currently level 63 (Domination league)
I have pretty decent gear (Sunblast, Carcass jack, tons of ES / mana regen / and life. my firetrap is doing 783 damage, I was a god leveling up all the way to act 3 merc. now It seems like I am struggling on packs; It takes a full rotation of fire traps, Ek traps, and cold snaps to bring most packs down (even white packs) does firetrap pick up alot later on? or am I missing something? |

I mentioned this when I messaged you while you streaming earlier, but I'll put this here because I think it would help some people out (like the two people before this post). I'm a new player to the game, so a lot of this wasn't obvious to me.
Okay, so I was about 66 in Merciless in Nemesis the other day. I started to really struggle in terms of DPS. Survivability was fine, but it wasn't amazing. It was a basically just a pain in the ass to kill anything. I figured there was something I was missing. For example, this whole time, I was wondering why we used a spell like Cold Snap. The aoe is complete crap, there's a long ass cooldown, feels like half the time it doesn't even freeze. Then, during your streaming marathon where you showed us some of you running maps, I figured out what it was. First off, I was running 3 curses haha. Flammability, Projectile Weakness, and Temporal Chains. My friend noticed this while we were partying and pointed out that only one curse applies at a time without uniques or passives. I'm an idiot. I had been doing this since day 1 lol... - I think the first thing people check out in your guide would be the "Informative Section". Especially when it comes to us newbies, I didn't really know who Merciless Dominus or what endgame maps were. Anyway, there you have a video on how to level your trapper with Fire Trap and EK. Alright, so here was the main problem. I was level 66, still manually casting EK like you showed us in that video. I didn't at all know what the "Trap" gem did, so I completely looked over that the first time I read your guide. So with Cold Snap, I was casting that manually too (without Ele Prolif) and it did absolutely jack shit. Eventually, I got my links going. I set up my EK and my Cold Snap like you have in your guide, and now I faceroll everything. I went from only being able to handle a pack at a time to being able to pull all of Docks and mow everything down in seconds. - So to the two people above me and anyone else who thinks your killing ability or CC is lacking: EK - Trap - Added Fire - Multiple Traps Cold Snap - Trap - Elemental Proliferation At level 60, my EK tooltip was at about 1k dps. I don't think this is very good. So to fix that, with the proper links, you now throw fucking 3 traps at a time that EK for you. With a Flammability/Elemental Weakness curse, it's gg. Cold Snap became amazing after the links. It went from being completely useless to OP. The Elemental Proliferation is absolutely necessary to have the freeze spread all over. Because it's linked to Trap, you can now just spam 3 of them. So you use your Elemental Weakness Curse, Cold Snap Trap to freeze everything, throw a set of Fire Trap for the extra deeps, then throw 3 sets of EK Traps (9 fucking EKs) and everything is dead. - To Pohx, I think it would really beneficial to you getting this build out there/solving noob problems if you just made a video called, "How This Build is OP", or something along those lines. It should be the first video everyone sees, and you'd talk about the CC, the damage, the links, etc. in detail. I know you had a freezing video under your "Gameplay" section, but I think a lot of people, including myself, missed what makes this build powerful lol. lvl 65 so far and i'm loving this build. I have a few questions though. Is there a certain amount of mana regen I need to hit before I can stop running clarity? I want to run trap cold snap like your old setup but I don't have enough links D: Is there something else I should swap out instead? This is what I'm currently using:
