[1.0.x] [Nemesis/HC] BlackDivine's Rain of Arrows - Updated 13th Feb
Introduction
This is a very noob friendly in-depth build. It prioritizes survivability over damage a.k.a Hardcore/Nemesis/Desync/AvgStupidExile viable. It doesn't mean that you will not do enough damage to have a decent clear speed. You will, eventually, trust me ;) My Gear
Spoiler
I'm currently 76 and this is by no way the best gear. I started 66 maps yesterday and doing pretty awesome. Got 6Link for a bargain as it's very low i-level(59) :S but whatves :)
Bow n Quiver Armor Jewelry Flasks Build & How to level
Spoiler
Strategy
Spoiler
When you enter town, buy a Coral Ring. Finish the Mud Flats quest, open the Tidal Passage and get Rain of Arrows as reward.
Go to ledge, farm till level 8 and then go back to The Coast -> Tidal Island and do Medicine Chest quest to get Poison Arrow. Now you have the Skill Gems, clear waves with 1 shot of Poison Arrow and then ROA them to death. When you reach ledge farm it till 10, beat act 1. In act 2 go to Riverways -> Dark Forest WP and then back to Town, Cross Roads WP -> Fellshrine Ruins and farm there till 22. Progress to final boss. Make sure your lightning res is maxed. Act 3, farm docks till 35. Beat piety like nothing. Level to 37 - 40 in docks/lunaris again and have a breeze through Dominus. Cruel ledge till 45, Act 2, fellshrine till 50, Act 3, docks till you are sure you wont die :D Build In start you will be getting plenty of Life Nodes and your tree should look like this at 30. ~ Level 30 Mana start becoming a real pain in the ass and since we have enough regen and a 5-link bow/armor(you should really buy one if you don't have it, don't craft it's just for leveling and you can get a 5Link GG bow for 2-4 chaos at this point) so we take BloodMagic. ~ Level 50 Beyond Level 50 you have to be a bit careful about passive choices, as further progression on PST heavily depends on what gear you have. You should get to 56+ levels and should have saved up some currency to buy a decent 5-Link thicket bow. Then you can focus again on life, or you can take some damage nodes early on without going into templar tree if you feel comfortable doing it. Blood magic would remain in PST until we get a 6Link later on. TL;DR: LIFE HEAVY, YOU CAN SPEC DAMAGE ~ Level 80 End-Game Build
Spoiler
This will be respec heavy and you must have appropriate gear or speccing will break your character.
a 6Link bow, either Lion Eyes, Voltaxic Rift or a really GGGG Thicket is MUST! Alpha's Howl is almost mandatory, it's the best socketing place for your 4Link Aura Gems setup. ~ Level 90 And here's a nice summary Gearing up
Spoiler
Offense
Spoiler
For bows, you should try to get decent attack speed on them plus some elemental damage. This is the ideal case. Very high physical can also work. For attack speed it's best to choose base bows that have highest innate attack speed.
Examples: So we go from a good - Short Bow (1.55 base attack speed or BAS) to - Groove Bow (1.55 BAS) to - Thicket Bow (1.55 BAS) to as we level. Defense
Spoiler
You should try to get evasion only gear on Chest, Head, Foot and Gloves (because we took many % increased Ev nodes in Passive tree).
And all those gear pieces should have some "+ n to max life" and some "+ x to max resistance" ideally. The more of those the better. Examples For belts, Leather Belts work best coz innate (implicit) Life. Same rule here, try to find one with + Base Max life and + Resists. For Quivers, if you are good on HP and resists (every resist 70+) you can go full offensive rolls. (+physicla, +%ele dmg, +ele dmg etc) otherwise gear up defensive quiver. Flasks
Spoiler
Nicely rolled flasks are as important as anything else. With new nemesis mods like CorruptingBlood and StormHerald(hate this guy) it's even more important to have at lest one of Staunchingand one of Grounding.
1. Highest level of HP Flask you can use ATM (Seething of Staunching/Grounding) 2. Highest level of HP Flask you can use ATM (Sapping/Bubbling/Seething of Staunching/Grounding) 3. Ample/Perpetual Granite/Jade flask of Warding 4. Granite/Jade flask of Dousing/IrondSkin 5. Ample QuickSilver flask of Adrenaline It's also advised to use potions intelligently, dont't just keep waiting for last moment if you are in a dangerous spot or HP is dropping fast. JUST DON'T BE THIS GUY! - (He had a staunching flask) Gem setup
Spoiler

Spoiler
Normal - Help Oak
Cruel - Kill them all for skill point. Merciless - If using frenzy for Single Target help Kraytin for extra frenzy. Else kill em all. Auras
Spoiler
Try to get a reduced mana gem and start leveling it ASAP.
In order of Importance: Grace, Wrath, Anger/Hatred(see what gives you more DPS) NOTE: With lvl 18 reduced mana and alphas(8% reduced) and the near templar cluster of reduced mana reserved nodes(for a total of 16% reduced mana) you will be able to run 3 60% auras. Without Alphas you can run 2 60% and 1 40%. Pros n Cons
Spoiler
Pros
- That Tankiness. - Decent damage, Awesome with good gear - Works equally good with Ele/Phys bows - ? Cons - Little Mana problems in mid game (an annoying phase you have to get through) - End game gear not so cheap (you can go with cheap gear but build wouldn't shine to real potential) - ? FAQs
Spoiler
1. RoA at start feels slow and I'm OOM a lot?
Mana problems can be avoided with skill and experience. Like you see a big pack, you keep hitting them and sip your mana bottle just before the pack is about to die or most of its monsters, so you will regain charges fast. Other thing is to have at least 2 mana bottles and alternate between them properly. THe build also takes Primal spirit, I usually get it ASA I start feeling mana blues. NOTE: This build is definitely Inspired by Gankstaboo, Awesome guy! Change log 13th Feb - Improved formatting (golden headings) - Moved flasks from independent section to gearing up. 7th Feb - Added FAQs section. 2nd Jan, 2014 - Updated my gear - More information about auras. - Added some pros/cons - Added image of my toon. * Huge update - Spec now relies on BloodMagic passive until a 6Link is acquired - Added many other possible gem setups besides ROA - How to setup Flasks - Description on each levelling tree - Much optimized End Game tree - Listed my shitty gear on multiple requests - Updated how to level with info on cruel - Aura order changed. - Aura's added. Added some reduced mana reservation nodes. - Dropped going into Marauder tree, enough survivability as is. - Added mana nodes for levelling (Primal Spirit) https://mysocials.world/divine Last edited by blackdivine#1394 on Feb 13, 2014, 2:26:04 AM

I was wondering what to do for the bandits quest in each difficulty

I really like how you put 4 different passive trees in there, most builds people make are "here's the whole tree all at once, fend for yourself on when to get health nodes". xD
<3, will try. I used to put my characters down here. The list became so long, and I've had to DELETE over 50 characters to make room for others, that I've stopped updating it. #firstworldproblems give me character slots free or WAY cheaper GGG ;( Last edited by Semune#5578 on Oct 30, 2013, 5:49:35 AM

- what about other skills than RoA? How are you going to feed them, from mana?
- No auras? - dps will be very low with this configuration, you didn't take almost any damage nodes My Standard shop http://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/401833/

I won't say it's better, but I prefer mine. Also, there are con's to this kind of build : your skill spamming ressource, either life or mana. If you go BM keystone, forget about the auras, so you can choose between BM gem or stay 100% mana based. I decided to go BM gem : before that I had to use the mana leech gem anyway (so both mana or BM gem make me lose one slot) but I could only run one aura, because running two take almost 100% of my mana pool. With the bm gem, I can run two auras. The con is, if you dont have a 5L to make RoA-FA-WED-BM-Life leech, but only a 4L, you have two choices : 1/ losing a huge dps buff by throwing away FA or WED for Life leech, but then you can curse with Projectile weakness 2/ Keeping WED and FA and cursing with warlord's mark. I think the second choice is way more dangerous. IGN : @Morgoth

" Added that, thanks that you mentioned. It will become finer and optimal as time progresses as I just took out some time to put it online, as I am also following this exactly it will definitely get better. https://mysocials.world/divine

" The first build I ever followed was even more in-depth than this. Any good build should have both leveling spec and endgame spec. Thanks for the praise ;) https://mysocials.world/divine
