Hi Chris,

Personally, I don't particularly mind the footprints logo (for reasons posted elsewhere), the "snakes" MT might have been more suitable "snake" variation for the Fire Trap skill (circular trap, snake animations etc)... but overall I didn't mind it.

What does slightly concern me is this snippet from the following article:

Razer Collaborates with Grinding Gear Games to Enhance New Game, Path of Exile
...

An example of the partnership between the two companies will be the in game footprints available exclusively to Razer fans. One example of which is the triple headed snake logo in the game with more to come available in the coming months.

Which suggests there are more of these type of MTs coming in the future, which is a slippery slope. In saying that I trust GGG's judgement and decisions.

Cheers

Personally, I wouldn't mind at all if you just added a on/off-switch for players(perhaps players who contributed with money?) like me who don't want to loose the immersive experience they're looking for by seeing corporate logos on the ground.

E.I. I don't mind if people who like it has access to it, or if you had a system similar to what many streamers do with ads- turn it off for subscribers.

Cheers!

Edited for clarification etc.

Some of my friends and I wanted to buy a supporter pack for our company.

Will we be able to design our monster or unique item so that it reflects the qualities that best our corporate vision.

We were hoping to design an armour with our logo on it, or a monster with a unique sound effect that refers to our website.

Nothing fancy, each one of us on the board would be willing to purchase a Ruler Support Pack to make this happen.

Sincerely,

Acme Anvil and Rocket Shoe Corporation.

This post is perfectly embodies my sentiments about the footprints. Thank you.

i'd rather take the more updated post from chris as canon for now. perhaps the intention was to have more, but it seems like they've taken the negative feedback into account.

great job GGG! :)

I hope this is true as that article clearly indicates they had more planned. I don't blame Chris for trying something new, but this was ill-conceived if you ask me. Ask long as GGG learns from this, then no harm done.

Since the prints are free as well, I don't think deactivating them after a set promo time would be a bad idea either.

I for one actually liked it - saw an ingame friend with the green footprints trailing him and I liked it.

Game Forums have always been visited by a very vocal minority of players - which by itself is not a bad thing, until people start thinking a thread with a 100 people saying something somehow represents the entire player base. In actuality it probably doesnt, since the vast majority arent active on forums every day.

But again, I am an old person and probably think this is 1999 everquest forums on Sony (whineboards as we called it) - these days everyone has a "smart" phone so probably browses these forums all the time!
I don't mind it that much if it offers a great benefit to GGG and only one occurs at a time.
I don't really care, as long as it is not some bullshit ad like a coca cola banner on the floor in town.

However, i think it would be fair that people who have payed any amount of money should be able to visually disable them.

I personally wouldn't even do it, but this is how most the payment models for games currently are: either ads or you pay for it.

I know, the MTs and packs are not really paying for the game but more supporting of the devs. Still, i think it would be a nice move to not upset those who have bought stuff and don't like the footprints. Not to forget: those people probably will buy more stuff in the future... And it might motivate some more people to support GGG.
