I understand that this post is sarcastic and refers to the Razer Footprints. We have listened to the feedback from the community members who felt that they don't fit into our world. The footprints are not the first step in a slippery slope - they're as far as we're willing to go. I'm sorry to everyone who was upset by them, that wasn't the intention.

If it generates more content in dungeons/more gems etc i am all for ads.

Thanks for the feedback and totally agree with tobes111.
The dragons begin to speak, yin and yang are commingled
You're only going to see people who don't really give a fuck about the footprints in this kind of thread that has been made a thousand times. This is due to all of the players who were offended have left.

I get it. You aren't offended, but please do not be ignorant enough to think this "sell-out" had 0 impact on the community.

This apology and clear line-drawing by Chris was necessary. Ask yourself this: does GGG ever apologize when they are wrong? Not really. In fact, it could be said that they are actually pretty unapologetic when it goes to their game and "their vision for the game." Think about this and Chris apologizing, he wouldn't if it was not TRULY a fuck-up on their part.

That's awesome to hear! :)
I understand the real-world rationale behind product placement, but also think players should see no such thing in their game, especially if they paid money for it.
the very least you can do GGG, is integrate an option to disable all product placements into every supporter pack sold. at least let the paying customers decide if they want to see it in their Client, or not.

and please don't give us the "Razer are cool, their CEO is a gamer, and their logo is mystic" crap. the Coca Cola logo is also "mystic" and "fits into Wraeclast's dark atmosphere" given a "fat enough" contract.
we are all grown-ups here, not 10-year-old kid gamers.

Thank the stars that this happened BEFORE v1.0, and there is time for the storm to blow over.

I will eat a rotten Rhoa, if that Razer banner-ad is still on the News page come launch day.

I don't claim to speak for anyone else, but as far as I'm concerned they can put banner spam all over the site and loading screen if it makes them happy, as long as they keep it out of Wraeclast.

Glad to hear that this is as far as they are willing to go, though would be even nicer if it doesn't go this far again.
[insert ragepost]

but still... fuck razer, GGG is not different anymore.

i just discovered that i have a really good 6 year old metal mouse mat from razer and was already wondering how it could be integrated?!? haha
but this statement probably more relates to adapting mouse drivers and such to the game. or integrating their speak chat system.

reading the article i would like to mention the down sides for such a business relationship. as well getting your share of razer's popularity you also get a fair share of their dissapointed prior fan base when it comes to product quality, durability and their non existent replacement offers. i imagine someone whose expensive razer equipment broke recently with the warranty being over, being a big poe fan but who is now forced to watch razer ingame advertisement.
eventually you win alot of new players but also lose many.

Unfortunately, PoE is going to need extra financial support if it plans to stay alive most likely as a free to play game with very little incentive to ever spend a dime on it.

i don't think ggg got any money from the deal, just tech transfer and some attention from the part of the community which actually likes razer products.

on a related note i do remember i had a razer mouse from buying a games news mag abonnement 5 years ago. i nailed the mouse onto the wall after half a year because a microswitch was broken, the mag consequently nailed itself into non existence some time later.

age and treachery will triumph over youth and skill!
But how else will corporations be able to brainwash young people into buying their overpriced piece of shitware :(
Won't someone please think of the multi-billion dollar companies?
Vote +1 to change Path of Exile to Path of Nerfs.
We hate to say, but ProjectPT was right.
