PoE Vs Diablo 3 new expansion
Cookie Cutter with Level 71? Hm, then please go solo into a level 75 map with bad options (9x extra damage, - 2x resist and vulnerability) and we will see how hard the cookies are :-)

" you mean ''in your face''? christ you are childish lmao Again, you ripped at 55 and 61 and your only alive char is a 71 and expect anyone to take you seriously? Play what I said back in your head, slowly, troll. " Here I was thinking that this saying originated in outer space. Last edited by mvm199#0755 on Aug 30, 2013, 10:36:26 AM

Meh, I'd try it if I wasn't too lazy to recover my account. It's nice that the new loot is finally getting some cool stats instead of the mmorpg bullshit, the changes are overall really good. Why fucking crusader though, there's already a dex paladin in form of monk, no need to add a second one, this was the perfect opportunity for a druid, not another holy warrior.
Old april 2012 account got stolen

" Yes that second one is a good point and I will tell you exactly why they all died: Because all my characters are/were life and armour based and even though passives-wise every single one of them took all the increased life, life regen and armour available, used gear with top armour buffed by Determination and Inner Force and focused on life on gear, those who fell were so stupid not to use (enough) of 1 or multiple of the following as well: 1)Granite flask 2)Endurance charges 3)Max resists 4)Enfeeble 5)Life on all items 6)Life leech And you know what, the reason why my Marauder has no real problems yet is because he has 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5. But it looks like I will need point 6 as well very soon. And that is no surprise, because I did read about playing melee and I've seen those movies that others references to earlier in this thread. And that is exactly the reason why I choose this build. I'm not stupid and obviously see what does not work but that doesn't mean I have to agree with it. I think I'm being forced into a very specific setup. And don't tell me nobody forces you: No of course not but I don't want to die. And so from my experience with life and armour based melee characters: 1) Defenses are too much build around temporary factors like 1,2,4 and 6 2) Permanent defenses like life, armour and auras are too weak compared to monster damage And because of that this kind of builds regularly have to give up MF most importantly. But also many other potential character properties. Can you play this backwards in your head? lol Last edited by Startkabels#3733 on Aug 30, 2013, 7:08:08 PM

Ehh what is your point? That's not even a response to what I said, is it? CI character don't have an edge until 70+, yes so?

Another thread in which someone says 'there is only 1 build' and completely misunderstands how easy it is to make multiple DIFFERENT playstyles.
heck, I am starting ot run out of character space, and all my builds are DIFFERENT builds |

" I dont see the problem here, you build melee you expect to have some defenses. I dont get your point, at all. " Everyone who is half good uses granites and charges, and everyone runs curses. Again, problem? " Pahaha lol, you just didnt build well. Marauder = beautiful tree for max block, armor = tanky as fuck. In fact, keyword here is ''from my own experience''. At least you admit its you. " this lol |

The main point has been lost which is that Path of Exile has a large amount of customization while Diablo 3 has basically none.
" That is very untrue. Your stats were pulled out of no where and are fairly ridiculous. Low life witches almost always use Shavronnes, exactly how many witches playing the game now do you think even have a Shavronnes? Also, your premise is based on the fallacy that if there is a few popular builds in the game that somehow equals Path of Exile not having many builds. All it really proves is that there are a group of players who only care about having the most power possible and who don't want to use any effort in making their own build. Just because some builds get talked about a lot in the forums doesn't mean others aren't being used. Play how you want to play without caring about what other people are doing and all of the sudden the game has quite a lot of choices. You can make something thats unique to you if you want which isn't possible in some other games... Standard Forever Last edited by iamstryker#5952 on Aug 31, 2013, 2:58:10 AM

I just play (usually alone) until I can't progress, and I don't usually trade with others unless I happen to be at the right time & place for someone to give me something useful for super duper cheap. Like someone gave me a Queen's Decree sword for just 10 chromatics and chromatics are probably the most common currency item I've come across aside from alteration/transmutation orbs.
Anyways, yeah I just play without looking up any builds before hand and making what I like until I can no longer progress because of either lack of survivability, lack of skill or desync being too common preventing sufficient skill performance to survive. Here is a status report on my 3 most progressed characters of the 5 I've made so far since Open beta began: I've got a melee Marauder up to level 63 and Act 3 merciless (Standard) that can't progress, he needs to grind early Act 2 content as he was unintentionally carried by my Minion summoning friend and currently lacks the necessary gear to survive Act 3/late Act 2. This character was mostly played with a friend, all others so far are mostly solo adventurers. I've got a level 51 melee Templar trying to remedy the mistakes I had made with my Marauder. And most recently a level 42 minion summoning Witch on Anarchy league who's so far making the game seem super easy compared to my melee guys, but is also a bit less engaging/interactive/more boring to play. I haven't looked up any builds for these characters, I have no clue if my current passive point distributions or skill gem configurations will work out in the long run, I don't care if they don't work out, it's just fun trying stuff out and seeing if it works. It is far too easy and quick to exhaust all configurations in Diablo III that it just bores me really fast, it doesn't have decent combat (Can't actually dodge by moving out of the path of an incoming attack/projectile, seriously?) and it doesn't even have a decent story (compared to all products made by Blizzard North and numerous other developers/companies) to entertain me with. I will admit the upcoming changes to Diablo III (various portions of which will be back ported to the original product and won't be exclusive to the expansion pack) have piqued my interest, but I doubt I'll purchase the expansion pack or return there and spend a long period of time playing.
