And for those who don't understand how to implement the patch:

you need to take the Content.GGPK file that you downloaded with the torrent and move it into the path of exile folder replacing the other one that's in there.

Downloaded this while also using bit torrent to DL the file, this of course was almost instantaneous, as I was finished in less than 6 mins with the entire download.


All that was left was a 23.49 Mb update to play the game.

Seems to be working just fine.

Cheers y'all, I let the patcher and the torrent race and the torrent is 96% after 8 hours while the patcher was about 6%. I'll seed as long as possible :)
