[OSX] Unofficial Path of Exile port - 30/12/2018 status update

thanks for all the help im up and running. Also I found out to fix my desycing issue so far is I power cycled my home router after that ive had zero issues.
this worked rly great for me until the game all suddenly crashes and now i cant start the game. in the FAQ;

"Game won't start - fix

You can fix this by one of these solutions
1) reboot the OS X (the /tmp will get cleaned along with the lock file)
2) delete the lockfile from /tmp (the lock file will be named like "xWSxUsersxUsernamexblablaxtadatatada.app" (but make sure there are not any hanged wine processes)"

rebooting does not work

and i cant find /tmp

Wont start and crash is two completely different things... The deletion of the file from /tmp is needed, when the application does not start at all.

If the game crashes, I need info: how, when, logs, and your system info.
How about you guys, have you noticed considerable drop in initial loading times between areas since Open Beta started? Areas that used to load for 30-60 seconds now open in under 20. Hopefully this is real progress :)

Using OS X.6.8

Had to download v3.6 twice. The first download perpetually checked resources. The second attempt completed/installed successfully, but will not start. Attempted to start it three times, the first occasion nothing happened, attempted to exit the program, which caused the computer to freeze. The computer was restarted, the second attempt resulted with the program launching, the game window opening and perpetually 'loading'. The program was exited, started at third time, only to display - http://imgur.com/3t943vL

OSX.7.5 is recommended, so it's reasonable to assume these experiences result from compatibility issues with the operating system. Since this Mac won't be able to upgrade beyond OS X.7, and Diablo II can only be supported up to OS X.6, I'll wait to see if the developers have a chance to make something available for those of us in this position. There probably aren't many of us, making it unreasonable to expect anything, but if you are in the same position, don't waste your time trying the same process I did.

That mentioned, thanks to julus for making this available. I'm not familiar enough with computer programming to write a conversion program, so your effort is appreciated.

PS - julus, is there any chance v3.1 will have better results?

OSX 10.7.5 is recommended only for ATI and needed for INTEL HD

Game has problem reading the content.ggpk. I seriously hope you are using Mac partition for game, and not some external disk.

BTW: initial loading might take to 5 minutes, and there is high chance of game files corruption when closing the game during loading. Possibly your issue. Also if the "freeze" was the grey screen with moving cursor - that is the some weird OSX protection against process hijacking (wineskin tries hijack it's own X server sometimes...), but this was observed on 10.7+

I dunno about 3.1, those wrappers are pretty much the same, I made 3.6 just because a lot of people were reporting better performance on vanilla wine.
OK could anybody please put all what i would need to download, install, and play this please in links. I would love to play

Well... Let's think. This topic is about unofficial mac osx port, well, so it must be somewhere there.. Wait, what about checking the 1st post?

------------------------------------------------------

Really people, ALWAYS check the 1st post of topic and there is a big chance you will find information you need. Asking what to do over and over again is just wastage of time.
Hi,

I've been playing with no crashes at all since closed beta, but now I randomly crash, a lot.
I'm getting this error:
"
Unable to deserialise packet with pid 3

I'm using the 3.1 wrapper. These crashes occur at random times, had crashes in Act 2 and Act 3.

Screenshot: http://cl.ly/image/3R0F340a3i2l
Second screenshot, after I click Ok on the first one: http://cl.ly/image/2K3L0T463104

Here is a zip containing the 3 log files: http://cl.ly/1Y213G300n2S

I'm running on a MacBook Pro late 2009. 2,53GHz, 8Gb RAM, 9600M.

Also, since these crashes it looks like some sort of memory leak since after 1h of playing my RAM is completely used up, don't know if its related.

Any suggestions?

Thanks,
Hafuu
