Step 1 - Make a Low Life Sporker with IIR/IIQ gear
Step 2 - Rush/Level to Merci Docks and Farm until you can do Lunaris
Step 3 - Farm Lunaris until you find/buy Shav
Step 4 - Farm Maps
You can also Build a char with tons of IIR/IIQ and run Normal Merv forever and pick up all Rares/Uniques. Sell the Rares for Alts which you can sell for at least a Chaos per stack, and most of the uniques will sell for an alch or so.
Normal Merv has made me all my riches in Onslaught. Made SHIT doing Docks & Lunaris from 65-80. Absolute shit. I made enough from farming Normal Merv in ONE WEEK to buy this:

I really have 0 idea how people get so rich doing Lunaris etc. I have ZERO clue. Most of the shit you make in norm merv is from selling the rares (ID them) for alts, and then sell the alts for chaos (in onslaught 20alts:1chaos) and I timed myself, I can farm a stack in about 10 minutes.
Contrary to popular belief, the rares->alts are barely worth it in that you're guaranteed a fraction of a chaos per run, which is nothing. I sell the shit uniques at my shop for a few id scrolls, but getting rares and garbage uniques is bad in terms of farming (I've sold around 10 heatshivers for 20 id scrolls each).
The real money comes from the andvarius, springleaf, tabula, and other goodies normal merveil can drop (never seen a dream frag from merv, maybe it can happen?) pretty often when you have good iir/iiq.
You can't get soul taker though, which is why I'm currently farming the rock

Just to be clear, you guys are talking about farming Merv on normal difficulty? Why not farm her on merciless? Does she drop the same stuff either way?
I'm soooo sick of running docks and lunaris and never getting anything. I've been doing a lot of solo maps lately, but I've never in the hundreds of hours I've played found a single item worth even an exalt. Just about ready to throw in the towel. I can't fathom how some people get so rich.

Merciless runs are unsafe unless you have a party to clear it out (double andvarius is not very safe). I do this in parties where I just hide until I come in for the cull. With such large party size (we have 4+) you get lots of uniques (around 2 uniques for every 3 kills). You can also get good clears as everyone creates their own instance, finds merveil, then we kill merv in each instance. I've seen 2 andvarius, one exalt, and a bunch of shit uniques (<2 chaos). I think the highest level valuable thing you can get is marohi.
If you're soloing, well, I hope you can fight merveil with pure MF gear, let alone make it in one piece in merc. Without MF gear it probably isn't worth it; I'd just farm the rock in MF gear for the chance at a soul taker.

Cool. I'm gonna take a few runs at her tomorrow and see how it goes. My MF gear is only 200/100 iir/iiq, but I can easily solo her, at least until I can find/buy a couple andvarius. Also, what are you referring to when you say "the rock"?

The rock is gneiss in the old fields (level 57+2 for being a unique, so siege axes drop and soul taker is possible loot). No elemental damage outside of rare mob affixes so you can run double andvarius reliably.
Just for the record, I did a drop log of normal merveil, and the average rate of uniques with 550iir/75iiq and 450iir/105iiq is roughly 1:10 kills.
Also a protip: just buy a shit andi for 1.5ex and throw blessed orbs and divines at it. More often than not you'll save a lot of cash when compared to paying ~3ex for a near perfect roll.
