How did you find POE

Hi Guys,
I am quite new to the game / community. I have been pleasantly surprised by how active the forums are, and it got me wondering: How did everyone find this game? For me, ironically I first heard about it on the d3 forums. Never really bothered to investigate, and as if to add to the irony, I was watched one of kripparian's latest videos and he showed some game-play of POE and lifesteal. I found myself shocked by how good the game looked, given that it's not produced by a big company full of money hungry suits. After reading on the forums, and a few reviews, I was hooked. TL;DR: How did you find the game? I found it via the d3 forums and krip's steam. |

I first found out about it from a totalbiscuit video, and have been keeping an eye on it for some time. Finally got into beta recently, amazing to see what a great community the game has, not to mention developers that care about the game and want feedback and ideas from the players.

I first heard about it a long time ago from a friend who mentioned it while I was playing Titan Quest. I didn't really know what he was talking about so I kind of ignored it.
It wasn't until the first stress test weekend that I finally looked at Path of Exile and saw what kind of game it was. So I played that weekend and became very interested. Ingame name - Polypodiaceae

I saw a video posted by Total Biscuit about it and then my brother mentioned it to me in the same day. It all happened to be right as PoE was about to have a free public weekend.

I heard about this game in reddit, a year ago.

Was mentioned in a thread on the Torchlight forum on Steam and thought I would look it up.

To be honest I had heard about the game last year when closed beta began. I dismissed it at that time, because I knew nothing would beat Diablo 3 in greatness. D3 wasn't for me, and I got a beta key from a friend to PoE. PoE was just the game for me, and I bought my way up to gold support :)

I had heard whispers of PoE but like everyone stated nothing that made me race over here. Shortly after the release of D3 and the super boring flop fest that it was (not to mention how irritating it was to find out Inferno was getting dumbed down even more) I knew it was time to find a new game.
I was at work reading the D3 forums and i saw someone talking about PoE, and that it was too complicated. When i got home from work that night I became a supporter and haven't looked back for the short time I have been playing. (╯°□°）╯︵ ┻━┻
