Just got absolutely rekt by this guy in a pvp.

Really cool dude. Had a small chat afterwards.

Great build, and great guide! Looking forward to updates in the awakening.
Aww thanks man!

Hey guys!
So i haven't played with Frenzy for quite some time now. And since there is still no wipe in the Beta i've decided to give it a shot and see how good it works there and ... i've quickly remembered why i dislike Frenzy. The AoE ( with melee splash of course ) is just terrible and because of that the clear speed is not as good as with the other attacks. Ice Crash and Infernal blow both have a lot bigger AoEs, Cyclone even tho also has low AoE Radius makes it up with the fact that you hit everything around you are moving while you use it, as for Dominating blow - it has the same aoe as Frenzy but the minions kind of make up for that.
I know that some of you like Frenzy very much and that's ok ... but it's just not my thing ... and i doubt that i'll be spending too much time on it when the Awakening comes out ( yeah ... i'll have to scrap the idea for RT + Acro + Phase Acro life/evasion/Frenzy based facebreaker build ).

Oh btw something that i've realized that i've forgot to mention something when i was talking about Blood Rage ( and i'm sorry about that)! It now gives % increased attack speed while it is on. It used to give attack speed while you are on low life. Thankfully that's no longer the case. It starts with 5% increased attack speed but it increases as you level up the gem. So attack speed + frenzy charges ( more damage and more increased attack speed ) + life leech. Pretty nice buff indeed.

What do you think about the new Unarmed gloves?

Yea i was just going to write about that
So these are the gloves:
Spoiler

I ... don't like them. And that's because the thing that makes melee elemental builds viable is the Weapon elemental damage ( gem, passives, item modifiers ) but WED has no effect on you while you are unarmed.
And without WED there are not a lot of options to increase your unarmed melee elemental damage. Sure there are quite many elemental damage/lightning damage nods now ... but that's about it. The main problem as i see it is the lack of usable support gems ... say goodbye to melee physical damage, the damage bonus of fortify, the levels of Multistrike and Melee Splash increase only physical damage so those are not as good as well.
Oh and of course all attacks increase the physical damage every level ... so that's also not very nice... tho you could keep the skill at level 1 for low mana cost. The best candidate for an atack would be Ice Crash due to the very high % base damage of the skill.
So unless a new way to increase that damage comes up i don't really see how these gloves can produce a viable melee build. Which is a shame because i was looking forward to them :/

Maybe a cast on melee kill could be made ... but i don't know much about that .. so i can't really say if and how effective it would be.

As for a spell caster build - they are not that bad tho far from godly. In the end i can see a spell caster build with these gloves.

What are your thoughts guys ?

those gloves obvious aimed for spellcasters right now(mby it get later some jewels or gems or uniqs to combine)
with EB changes its ability to regain ES looks pretty sweet and in pair with Cybil's Paw claw + Ghost reaver u can sustain new awakening mobs dmg so ez when clearing maps

Yup i agree with what you are saying Doitfrlulz.
Tho pairing the gloves with Cybil's Paw claw will sadly ruin the lightning damage to spells .. and i'm not sure if just the 30 ES per kill + 10% shock is enough on itself to use them that way.

It is obvious for me that the "30 ES per killing a shocked enemy" is greatly influenced by the new EB

with arc and Cybil u get 4x8=32 instant es for 1 cast (6 link cost of arc is around 60 mana) plus possible LL on items and/or gem and on top of that if u wearing legacy aurora with 65+ block chance and get 300+ ES on block (with new +2 block jewels its ez) also add rainbowstrides and +4 block/spellblock corrupted Lazvar and BOOM new Op Undying build done
Point is in never ending ES/Mana defence, ofc pure dps of skills better if go unarmed (for boss kills (Atziri) u can drop claw) Also Rathpith can be good shield too here as option

Dont forget they remove shock from qaulity added light support, combined with +25% dmg on shocked from tree (Celestial Punishment node)and shock 50% dmg increase its very good dps by itself also i check possible numbers of getting/not getting spell dmg bonus on gloves, right now i lvling arc witch, with added light gem 9-176 (6321 dps tooltip) when i remove it - 5529, so its around 2k dmg losing on 64-230 bonus from gloves

The Awakening has provided us with a great opportunity to take a look at Path of Exile as a whole, and make improvements to many areas, ensuring all the parts fit together nicely. Part of this has been a game-wide review of skills. One of the skills receiving a rework in the next Beta content update is Tempest Shield.

Tempest Shield was intended to enable a defensive shield-using spellcaster build, but supporting it with most damage increasing support gems increased the reservation cost. This made investment in the skill too expensive.

Here are some changes we're making to the skill:

  • We've changed Tempest Shield to be a duration buff with a cast cost, rather than having permanent mana reservation. This should make the skill much easier to support with damage increasing support gems, and enables interesting synergies like Cast on Melee Kill.
  • Tempest Shield's duration will be refreshed whenever you Block. This will mean that you'll only have to refresh the skill very occasionally if you've specialised in block.
  • Tempest Shield now unleashes an arc-like beam at enemies you block. This will help the skill feel more active and let users know what they're damaging or why they're taking damage when facing enemies with the skill.
  • The beam from Tempest Shield now chains once. This will help improve the skill when fighting groups of monsters, and give more opportunity for investment as you can further increase the chains with the Chain support gem.
  • We've increased the damage, and added a very short cooldown on the damage trigger. This will make the skill more reliable, without being too powerful against very fast attacking monsters or players.

More changes may be coming, based on our continued testing, usage on beta and feedback from players using the skill.

Could be useful - maybe combined with CWDT ? We have a slot now when EC doesn't work with it ( well at least i have. Ifit still gives some/any extra block chance it sounds good to me.
