PoE 2 servers are restarting in: .
They should be back up in approximately .Point blank passive?
My point blank build practically oneshots rares in maps. Point blank has great impact on it. You'll figure out the combo eventually when you think a way to do most possible damage in single shot.
I confirmed that I am still in HC league. Then I died. Last edited by Targuil#7640 on Aug 9, 2012, 1:53:21 AM

The point blank would be a hell of a lot more viable if there was something like Vayne's Tumble from League of Legends. Maybe if flicker strike worked with bows(don't know if it does but after reading the tooltip I'm fairly sure it doesn't) It would be a hell of a lot easier if this was the case but people make it work so far so I guess if people have made it work then It doesn't really need changing. Didn't work for you, then you need to spend some of those precious respec points.

I'm running a Point Blank bow ranger build (see link to discussion in my sig). So far (lvl 66) found it viable but I'd say it's a gear-greedy build otherwise your run into mana issues for AOEs (which is still my case). To make Point Blank viable for a ranger you need a bunch of strength and survival-centered passives, and that takes you away from crit talents, which in turns make elemental ailments to trigger less often. There's a lot of moving parts (passives/gems/stats) to making it really work.
If weapon switching a) was not half bugged (with skills randomly debinding) and b) faster, then Point Blank would be more fun to use after a shield charge or flickering strike. Right now I rely on fast boots and Phase Run to manage distance. So the issue is less Point Blank per se (a great idea I think) than the whole nine yards you need to make it work. |

How about a Point Blank shadow that's grabbed every increased wand damage/crit passive using full armor+shield? Sigh. I really want to try and validate a wand build.
Those from among you will rebuild the ancient ruins;
You will raise up the age-old foundations. And you will be called Repairer of the Breach, The Restorer of the Streets in Which to Dwell. |

" Skills are not randomly debinding AFAIK, but if you have the skill equipped in the wepon you swap out you can't use it (and it disappears from the skill bar, but reappears when you switch back) You can use this as a skill swap - having skill 1 on one weon and skill 2 on the other and make sure that those two skills have the same hotkey assigned when you swap your weapons you'll also swap those skills. Unavailable This is one of the new uniques, I'd say point blank is a lot more viable now. Some items in this post are currently unavailable.

I use it. Not because I build around it, but because it is one skill point that comes in handy. True, as a range attacker you prefer to stay out of melee range. But of course this is not always possible, the are mobs, close quarters, charging enemies, etc. Inevitably, from time to time you find yourself in melee range - which is exactly when you need the extra damage.
not enough time for gaming!

My concern with the skill, is if it's true by what someone said earlier in the thread, that your attack decreases when attacking things farther away on screen.
Now if it meant like you're only doing +1% extra farther away or as in doing less of bonus damage, then it would make sense for people to try and quickly get that. If it SUBTRACTS from your total damage, then it really makes you question why call the person a ranger if their range viability gets affected like that. I want to know though if it subtracts from your overall damage, or just your bonus damage? |

I had this passive and didn't care for it on my ranger, the up close damage was not very noticeable and losing attack strength at range kind of defeats the purpose of being a ranged class....maybe with the unique bow that does 100 percent more damage up close or some other combos this would be a good skill, but with my build it just came back off using a respec point

Wow, nice bow, it's obviously been made with this type of spec in mind. It's a bit on the slow side but the faster my attack speed get, the faster I get oom so maybe that's a good thing.
