(another) Frustrated D3 player coming to try PoE

D3 = Play forever looking for some kind of satisfaction, hoping in vain that you will eventually find the "real" game somewhere in there. Eventually quit with a big "meh".

PoE = Mountains of stuff to do, and real challenge. You can quit at any time and say "man that game was great".

Enjoy the game. Don't worry about global. The worst you'll get is the occasional guy trolling about politics.
Welcome, sorry u played D3 so long.

Have fun with POE I know you will
One more piece of advice - don't play a build that requires a very specific set of gear and/or very high end gear. Trading in this game is an exercise in patience.

If you're a Diablo veteran then you already know your first character should be the cheapest and most efficient farmer. Fun buulds and niche builds start after you have an efficient runner. Have fun!
lolbaddiablo3

i quit too for path of exile

never regretted my decision.

this is diablo 1 + diablo 2 best elements + more

welcome aboard dude, and enjoy!
They can always make a loser league where Monsters do no damage and you one shot everything. Goodness, people, just don't play in the hard parts of the game if you cant handle them.
Enjoyed a lot my 1st playthrough!
The landscapes and the dungeons are totally amazing! (Lunaris temple, haven't seen such a nightmarish place in a long time).
Learning about skills and items is a great experience so far. A lot of stuff to build characters and try out. Really looking foward to see all the things i have not seen yet. I'm gonna dig this game, definitely.
Thumbs up!

Glad to hear that! I played Diablo 3 a long time myself. There were a lot of really great things about it, and also many fatal, glaring flaws (especially from a character building perspective). Path of Exile seems to remedy most of the flaws.

As for the community, a lot of people in this thread have complained about the community, but honestly, I've never played a game with a more friendly, helpful, and mature lot of people. Granted, I think I turned general chat off on day one and I only play on Hardcore, but from where I'm standing, most of the player base is pretty stand-up.

Welcome overboard, Exile!

my advice? Open the game, turn off the global chat and just play.

Don't worry about the forum.

Don't be too concerned with the community.

Just play.

best advice PERIOD.

just run through... if you are a diablo player then you will have the basic idea. your first character might be blah but you have to learn in this game just like diablo 2.

having fun is the most important part.

You truly are 'Ruler of Wraeclast'!

That is excellent advice, and welcome new exile you have made a great decision and will be much happier here?

Follow Charan's advice

Also, the community is pretty good - the forums are bad.

Happy hunting/fishing
D3 release player, for about 2 months, until I realized what utter dog shit it was. Heard of this game from their forums and gave it a try. Needless to say I think PoE will absorb a good amount of my time, you've made a wise choice coming here :)
