Rings and flasks are a pretty easy (but temporary) fix.

CI would be best, but obviously as you've noted, your ES is pretty much useless in this regard.

Without too much information, I would say that you've probably gone too "offensive" with your tree, aim for more survivability.

If your main has only just reached merciless prison, I would also recommend just playing more and getting better acquainted with the game - it took me a couple of fully "completed" characters to get a decent understanding of game mechanics and a sense of how safe/dangerous areas are relative to what character you're running.

I don't know if it makes him a better player, but it probably keeps him from dying as much as you, which makes him a smarter player.

Wait what kind of Chaos damage in prison?

When should you stop playing a character and judge for yourself if it won or lost? The game doesn't do it for you.

One way to tell is if you feel like coming to a public forum and decry what a hard time your character is having... it's time to quit that character and try another.

Here's the advice:

If you really do have only 800 hp at level 58 you have absolutely no business wasting our time asking why your glass cannon is getting killed so easily.

800 hp at that level is idiotically stupid low. You will not be able to progress in merciless.

I don't think I'd be comfortable with 800 hp in cruel much less merc.

No matter how many minions you have to hide behind the 100% piercing chaos damaging snakes will make mincemeat of your character if not equipped properly.

Yes, you are missing when they quoted someone mentioning their own 2.5k hp and said that since they only have about 800 that makes them 3 times better.

Read the thread. I even quoted where they say they only have about 800 in my last post.
