hey man :) just want to say thanks for sharing the guide . i've been using it as a guideline for ambush. still only lvl 49

But spells i use for leveling up is Summon Raging Spirit with Melee Splash. and i was running wrath for a while till i got hatred. For a very poorly geard hero at the start it was working very well. I have been using IIR gear till just after cruel Vaal act2 . starting to need to tank up now. but my zombies are just crushing now :D

got any tips for an invasion summoner?

hows everyone going with vaal orbs on summoner gear? I saw an alpha helm in the other thread (page 88) which had +20% minion damage on it, and a similar amulet.

Given that there are also +1 charges and +1 traps, maybe there is an item that could roll +1 zombies or at least skeletons?! or even +2 skills on a +2 minion skill circlet XD

best I've gotten so far, hope those vaal skeletons are worth using lol

Well don't I feel like a nub... Just started an ambush summoner last week and had the bright idea to run a Dominating Blow Summoner. I'm not sure how viable I'll be end game, but based the build as a marauder and wasn't planning on running IR. Right now I'm level 57 and carved my way through Cruel Dominus pretty easily. Basically I'm using Bones of Ullr and a +2 minion helmet. 4L on the helm for zombies, minion life, minion res, minion damage. Vitality and Purity of Elements for auras, but I have very little mana to the point that if my zombies die, I need to pot to summon more than 2.

I'm using searing totem for some additional sustained DPS and basically wading into melee range to use Dom Blow (3L increased duration, blood magic) on as many mobs as I can. I usually end up with 7-10 dominated allies, 3 spectres, animated guardian, 7 zombies. Aside from corrupted area bosses with AOE attacks and Dominus 1st form, I tend to keep all the summons alive no problem.

Basically just wondering if I'm going to hit a wall at some point (hard) or if this is pretty much viable when I start running maps. I don't have a 5L yet, but that's mainly due to not having enough currency to blow on getting the right number of sockets and links without killing my current chest setup.

ive been vaal orbing all my minion stuff as well. Rest of my gear went to corrupt and nothing happened.

Trying to score that elusive 20% minion damage if possible. Am also vaal orbing any spare tabula rasa i get for that +1 to gems. And if I still have enough currencies going for that 21/20 zombie lol.

There comes a point where you really don't want to be any where near mobs with little armor and you still rather not be close even with a lot of armor. You'll need a lot block if you want to be more in the melee range. For example I was doing a Poorjoys map on my standard summoner and without evangelist Id prob wouldn't of completed the map lol. 155% mob dmg op. Tentacles were chunking me any melee hit destroyed my hp bar.

These were one of the first couple items I bought on ambush. Am still not using Ullr since I rather have more hp on my boot for now. Till am at a relatively safe hp pool.

Am going for a slightly different build for my ambush summoner am going to pick up cloak of defiance instead of IR and see how that goes.

My biggest concern is what happens to your setup if they fix snapshotting. Is it still gonna be viable? Kinda lame to spend 5 minutes summoning your army then switch gear out.

It should be. I do not snapshot at all and find builds like this and Rathik's very viable (though admittedly slower because I am not taking advantage of the mechanic and my minions are not as powerful as a result). If snapshotting were to be fixed and all of the sudden speccing into every minion node you could was just not enough, there would have to be some serious reworking of the minion portion of the tree I imagine.

After using evangelist for a while I decided to drop some personal defense for more minion dps. You can go pick up MoM if you like, nothing is stopping you. Am just adjusting my build to fit the current circumstances. If you followed my thread for a while you'll notice I make many small adjustments here and there as new patches roll out and if I get some build changing item of some sort.

I always mention this but don't treat this guide as an end all solution. I actually like to see posts here of other minion theory crafting. Hell I got the idea to use CoD from a poster here.

Use this guide if your new to summoning or need some help on how to build one. Most people ive seen took this build and put their own spin on it hp/es hybrids, dominating blow, ect.

If your curious am running a whole new build for ambush as a test. Am going to pick up cloak of defiance and have more freedom with my passive pts.
