Please, give us a real auto attack (auto target)
I think you didn't explain yourself very well, and combined with the fact that half the forum types before they read, results in a lot of ignorant post in response.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but here's what I think the OP's saying. The current targetting system of the game is that when you place your cursor over an enemy, it gets highlighted, and all subsequent attacks are focused on that enemy. However, once the enemy dies, you start running around like a chicken even though you're surrounded by ten more enemies. What is proposed here is that when the first targeted enemy dies, a second enemy is highlighted when the cursor is hovered over it, without the need to unclick and reclick the mouse. This allows fluid and continuous attacking without having to pause every attack to click the mouse again, causing you to constantly misclick and start randomly running around. In my opinion, this is an absolutely needed feature, since melee is already enough clunky and awkward without it (I'm looking at you, desync). |

Yeah, if you wanted a more positive response, you should have worded the thread like this:
Topic: Please give us attack targeting like in D2! Content: In D2 you don't have to click on each individual enemy, D2. D2 D2 D2 D2. By the way, I'm talking about something that D2 did better than PoE. We should really look toward D2 for gameplay mechanics that work well. i dont like this idea. it takes away most of the coordination and precision aspects of the game. even if u need to kite u can just move, attack-move, move, attack-move, without ever having to move your mouse very far or accurately clicking or shift-clicking in the monsters direction. a player's micro-management skills should be just as important as their build.

Im all for the right click melee auto attack/chase from d2. I recently rolled a melee build in onslaught and deleted it after reaching the end of normal, as the targeting issues were annoying on their own and also increased the games already bad desync issues, making it extremely frustrating and unfun to play.
Most ranged skills already have such functionality- just aim in the enemies general direction with pulse, fireball, lit arrow etc and you hit stuff, no need to click each individual target and waste an attack/cast animation or two every time the current target dies. It didnt lower the skill ceiling in d2 (youll still have to precision target when you need to prioritize specific monsters whether youre range or melee) and it wont be any different here. IGN: KoTao

Iam sick of this insane clicks. If you hold your mousebutton after killing the last monster and hoover it over the next one, it should attack this one too, even without clicking the button again. Every Hacknslay Game in the last 12 years got that, exept Poe. Fighting is fun right now, but not very smooth, it could be much better for melee. Sometimes this Games feels more like an Shooter then an Hack n Slay Game. You like Buttonsmashing at its best? Come try Poe! :) |
