lol OP and people supporting him, I think are a bit confused. What you are experiencing is desynch, which is a real problem; especially for melee. Otherwise attack system no different from D3, I hold rightclick down and my char chases the last monster I moused over no matter if the mouse no longer hovers over that monster... e.i. NAMELOCK!

This has nothing to do with desync.
It is a matter of targetting.
Perhaps I didn't explain it very well, but it has more to do with autotarget than autoattack.
You simply hold down the right mouse button and never let it go. You character moves and attacks automatically everything that comes into attack range.
Namelock works, but when your target dies, you have to let go off the button and namelock a different monster. Works well with bosses that have a lot of HP and need a bit of pounding to die, but what about many monsters with low life? You have to click every single one of them? With 10 attacks per second?
Just makes no sense.

thats ridiculous, that way you can sleep with your face on the keyboard. But if you use flickerstrike it works like that, click anywhere and it auto ports you to nearest enemy.

How about being a bit more constrictive?
Flicker and multistrike already have autotarget.

Yes it is needed.
the ranged crowd don't seem to want to improve melee.

Everyone who says shift+attack works, obviously has't played much melee. Shift + attacks works for area skills like cleave, but for single target skills, it does not, because you are not targetting the monster and your hit, even though the animation overlaps, is not registered.
Again - it works. Just so that I wouldn't look like an idiot I spent my valuable time testing it out with dual strike, glacial hammer and infernal blow and all three worked (killed mob without ever moving mouse over mob and only shift clicking behind)
The sole fact that you had to test it speaks enough.
Try playing a melee with a single target attack + melee splash. Put yourself in a REAL situation and see how it works then.
It does register hits indeed, sometimes. Like half of them. When you have resolute technique, missing half of your hits just because of crappy targeting mechanism is just lazy programming.
Had to test it so that I wouldn't look like an idiot overlooking some obscure skill that you were using. Never rolled a range or caster char since I started playing this game. currently rocking a 36k (25k i think with melee splash) tooltip dual strike Templar and I don't have any of the problems you seem to have so I guess its really a LTP issue...

What skill do you use for AoE (multitarget)?

Been playing LS since start but in the last couple of days playing around with dual strike + multistrike + melee splash (with increased crit dmg, faster attacks and weapon elemental or life leech) - mainly for testing and practice for new league. I'd say it works pretty much almost as good as LS.
