When there are 10 other games available that have ‘no tension’ and my game is FFA, anyone would assume I’m Mr.Master Ninja looking for a challenge. When in fact, I just enjoy a faster pace game.
The problem is I cant make anything other then a hypthetial argument until we see what GGG gives us, my point is that it will be too late to turn it back if everything does go the way I suspect it will given what I have read.

IF at that point nobody joins your FFA game THEN there really wasn't that many people who wanted it in the first place AND all your commentary about how it was a vocal minority who wanted longer timers or looting options is completely turned on it's head.
Not at all, hell I might not even join a FFA game if I have the luxury of not having to compete for loot and play safer despite it being much less fun. I expect most everyone else will also. This is exactly why I suggested earlier that they skip the options all togother and just give us D3’s instantced loot system, we will be almost there anyway and at least we can solve the loot clutter issue at the same time.

The scenario where a vocal minority (wanting longer timers) ruins the game for the vast majority of people (wanting FFA) by forcing pure FFA to be an option, but not the only way to play simply does not exist.
This ‘vocal minority’ topic is not recent, but in the past I did make this argument. And what I meant was not that a minority of people dislike loot-tension. By its definition its TENSION – something you WANT to escape from, that’s why I made friends to share loot with – to escape it.
What I was referring too was the 'vocal' minority of people trying to get GGG to take loot tension out of the game, mostly a few very active forum members.
I think its very positive for public groups to have this tension – it keeps the game fast and exciting, people loot quickly and are forced to make split second decisions because of it. It can be tough on the palyer, but its good for public games.
uh an instanced base loot map will be quicker then FFA. No more camping drops.clowns.

Instanced is not the best option in PoE, though. One man's trash is another man's treasure, therefore, with the excessive loot pinataing that goes on in PoE, items that some players want will be completely missed because they drop in the instance of someone who does not give a fuck.

10 second timers will do the same thing, they will stop people from camping drops. if you are gonna camp a drop in a 10 second timer I can't imagine you not being booted from the group.

to no avail, he is so dud that he doesn't even understand that his utterly crap posts helped the loot-options camp tremendously and consequently ggg's latest loot decision.
told him this i think maybe 300 hundred pages ago but the dud's a dud, cannot fathom.
all of them, vhodo, creakmontsar and that treumor-troll guy actually worked, with their posts, in favor of ggg's decision to support loot-options.
and they don't realize this ;)
even now, like previously hundreds of pages before, they swear that ffa is dead, that nobody will play it, that even they big ffa lovers will not play it. Pussies.
kudos to slayer, a ffa lover with a backbone, at least he doesnt whine like vhodo, creakmontsar, treumor-troll and tensword:

False. There are people here supporting FFA looting, therefore you can make a logical argument that people will play games with FFA looting. Also, just because people assume you're Mr. Master Ninja has no bearing whatsoever on whether or not they'd play with you. There are, quite obviously, several examples of players in this very thread who flatly do not care that you are Mr. Master Ninja.
My only point was that even though I enjoy faster paced FFA games, I am not in it for the loot competition. I don’t want to be in a game with only people trying to ‘out ninja’ each other, I like cooperative groups.

Bullshit. Your actions are not determined by an RNG, you know exactly what you are going to do.
Um, I would base my decision on various factors. Is this a boss fight only? Or is a group that is clearing an act? Does my character have fast run speed boots? Etc. No bullshit anywhere.

Gear is the most important aspect of character progression in Path of Exile, and having a situation in an RPG where someone can be denied any chance at progressing their characters in a meaningful way is bad. Sharing loot in Path of Exile is akin to sharing XP in D2. That is the role items play in this game, which makes pure FFA a bad mechanic..
I’m under the impression that if someone tries to keep up and watches what falls they will easily get their fair share of loot with the current and past timers. Now, if someone is very slow, they are also probably slow at fighting/killing and very likely just tagging along and letting others do the work for a quest and don’t deserve their share anyway.

XCodes wrote:
That said, some people find pure FFA more fun (or, at the very least, they claim to). As a result, in spite of it being a bad mechanic, it will remain in the game as an option. That's actually completely fine by me. As you said, excessive loot timers can slow down gameplay. Therefore, in the event I start playing PoE with friends I'll probably set the looting to FFA while partied with them for the faster play, and then we can decide who gets what when we return to town afterwards and neckbeard over item stats.
You mean likes the developers?
"
Chris wrote:
This decision was very hard to make because all of our developers are ninja-looters and love extreme item tension.
What you call a bad mechanic I consider the genius game design, this is what I told them when I bought a diamond supporter pack anyway...
We agree somewhat then, but my primary concern with these changes is how they will affect public games. Excessive loot timers are what I fear will dominate every game, and from my experience, the timers are already slowing things down. I don’t think most people will worry about keeping a ‘faster paced game’ if it costs them more risk of losing loot or character death.
