If we started to lock 'bitter speculation' it'd be a very, very quiet forum.
Not saying I think that's a bad thing, but it breaches the concept of 'you are welcome to express your honest opinion' being our so-called attitude.
As for SL4YER's spectacularly poorly veiled accusations, I am inclined to agree something is fishy only because it really was supposed to take a lot longer than this.
If something is done *significantly* faster than projected even by the creators, then those creators are either grossly incompetent or people are taking shortcuts.
When it comes to GGG, I know which I'd choose.
If I like a game, it'll either be amazing later or awful forever. There's no in-between.
I am Path of Exile's biggest whale. Period.

Is this your first video game?
Hardly, I joined EQ right after beta (some 14 years ago) and played either that or D2, WoW, Aion, or Rift up to April of last year when I found this game. and I wont be insulting since that can get me banned, but rather than flaming me why don't you contribute something useful?
Yes people have always cheated, does that mean we should turn a blind eye and accept it? I won't. You can if you want, but it will continue to piss me off for the rest of my game playing life.
The only reason I bothered to mention this was because of a comment about "not caring". You'll care if it's your shit that disappears.
Again, I never accused anyone of cheating. I feel with the play time our level 100 friend has it seems perfectly reasonable what he accomplished and I've never seen him in game nor watched any of his videos so I can't make any judgment. I can't force the cheaters to stop. All I can hope for is for them to get hacked rather than the honest players. Hopefully Karma will be a major bitch. That's all I have to say.
You stated that RMT'ers a.k.a 'cheaters' are solely responsible for people's accounts getting hacked, which led me to beg the question of just how green you were to video games. Hacking began long before RMT markets for video game currency and when RMT did become prominent BoTing and Chinese farming are significantly more profitable. The vast amount of forcefully cracked accounts are done by trollish kids who get a kick out of it. Almost no one out to make money from PoE would waste their time trying to hack accounts with the exception of possibly phishing methods.

All I see is massive over-reaction to something that hasn't even been proven to be cheating yet. Apparently, unproven events mean the death knell of an entire game.

Or a lot of people pooled resources in addition to the fact the guy has a fairly popular stream (when Kripp isn't streaming) which makes for an excellent source of donations and fast trading.

Popular stream? LOL average of 20-50 viewers daily..
Pool resources? as I said whens the last time you seen him open a map/roll them with currency on any of his streams!
Did you not notice it was always the same 2 people opening non stop 77 maps for hours?
Do you not know on average each 77 map costs about 4-5 exalts to buy/roll/exalt
Whats next? you believe magic is real LOL
If you honestly think chaining 200+ 77 maps for the last 4 bars of his xp, is legit, LOL ok well all the power to ya...play the game a bit, learn some things

All that matters now is GGG's reaction to this.
That will be how I gauge what really happened.

I understand the hate for third party pay-to-win systems, but how the hell can you turn around and blame GGG for any of this? It's like children throwing around blame without even thinking for a second.

Chris spoke on Reddit saying it was 2x as fast as they predicted from data gathered in CB. Now that means the guys in CB were half as good/lucky at the game as Havok or GGG just did the opposite of Jay & instead of doubling it they halved it. smirk.

Are you just going to let this slide? The whole community is watching how you'll respond to this.

We spend a lot of each day looking into specifics of how people got to economic states they're in. We're not going to just arbitrarily ban people because they have a lot of currency or good items. Don't worry though, this does lead to us banning thousands of accounts per week.[/quote

Thing is tho Charan, if you think back there was in fact dodgy goings on in CB, even some ppl who may have made this very thread may or may not have had a hand in that also.
The top of the table in any game is usually the most corrupt place. I generally see it as the top10 cheaters anyway, I am rarely proven wrong. Hard work & perseverance will get you so far but as is inevitable in any game there are always bugs, glitches, exploits, rmt yada yada that don't quite get realised in time or just get plain ignored that get you further. Some are worse than others.
I commend GGG for their recent devastation of the ingame spam. I haven't had a message or seen spam in chat for weeks & they deserve great credit for that. Now if we can just see the same attitude towards multiboxing & obvious cases of external trading then I think we can have 'one of the better' games in terms of a level playing field & an economy with some semblance of integrity.
