I didn't say I was going to join em'. I never have & never would but what I do know is that when players in general see nothing being done to curb the cheaters they start to feel like they might as well do the same.

GGG have taken a soft approach on boxers (to the point of endorsing it) & apparently turned a blind eye to what is going on at the top of the tables. That is the bed they made & when every other player is boxing or rmt'ing they are going to have to realise that they have to lie down in it.

They did a great job of clearing up the RMT spam bots, you can't knock them for that but as far as dealing with actual players, not so much.

I hope the game doesnt go that route, but honestly, if GGG can keep the game from becoming 90% bots with a few players sprinkled in, they are going to be doing better than most arpgs out there.

anyways, default 100 was bound to happen sooner or later, no reason to blow a gasket.

I suggest heading down to the skill haiku thread and creating something epic to relieve some stress and make the community better :D (please dont make it about HVR, RMT, or GGG's integrity xD)

For anyone who actually watched their stream....

They fell down to level 75/76 maps quite often. I personally in only about 45 minutes of watching saw 3 shipyards drop (one of which was in a shipyard). At level 99 the experience difference between a 77 and a 76 map is pretty much negligible anyway with how harsh the penalty is (5.6% awarded for a 77 map and 4.3% for a 76 map. either way it is going to take you forever). I have no doubt that it's possible to do what HvR did without RMT.

Now did he do it without RMT help? (directly or indirectly through his group buying things?) who knows. More importantly I want GGG to make a statement about it. Multiple people have claimed to submit evidence about it to them. Forum moderators have said "no naming or shaming" and that's fine but in terms of game integrity GGG needs to come out and say "we have reviewed the evidence and determined that he wasn't cheating" (or was if he was).

I spent about 30 seconds wondering if he did pay to "win" before I realised that I don't know and don't care. Maybe he did, maybe he just played every minute of his waking life and was backed by half a dozen other heavy players. I've seen that done on other games.

People with more disposible money than me spend it on all sorts of things, often trivial. Someone spends £5000 on a watch...does that stop my watch working properly? No. Does it stop places selling watches that work properly for £5? No. So why should I care? There's an effect on me in PoE if the devs scale the game to account for people who use 3rd party real money trading, but I'm not convinced that they are doing so and there's nothing I can do about it if they are. If I decide that they are and that as a result PoE is no longer fun for me to play, I'll stop playing. It's not like it's my job or my home - it's a game. A thing I use to pass the time in a way that entertains me. The amount of entertainment I've had from it justifies the amount of money I've spent on it.

I'm L78 and I've pretty much run out of game...but endgame content is always an issue and PoE doesn't even have the intended endgame content yet! The game isn't finished.

I am not suggesting that anyone cheated, I have no facts to argue either side of the argument however I STRONGLY care if someone buys currency. The players that cheat are, in my eyes, solely responsible for hacked accounts. If not for them there would be no reason for assholes to pillage accounts. If you condone cheating you are just as bad as the cheaters.

I don't care if someone else hits 100 and I can only hit 20, I don't care if someone has 15 hours a day to burn on a game. I do care if their actions can harm me, and because of cheaters there are 115, and climbing, pages of people talking about being hacked.

Ive had 7 maps drop in a map, I was watching and saw multiple maps dropping in their maps. I found a Koams, a Lioneyes, an andvarius and a divinarius in the space of a week running blue 67 maps over a month ago, such is rng. I go from having 0 chaos to having 60 to having 0 to having 200 to having 0 in the space of a week. For me doing what HvR did is impossible because rng will eventually shit on me as 1 guy really trying to push into hard endgame grinding, but if there were 6 of me pushing it together and throwing everything we had at it I believe we could do it if we were moderately lucky. I don't know how HvR did it, neither do you, but I don't really care and I think its possible to achieve within the bounds of legitimate play.



I've played games for a long, long time, and Ive seen so much OMG hes cheating! hes using an aimbot! hes using a wallhack! hes using a vac hack! hes using a map hack! OMG what hes doing is totally impossible this games gone to shit and is over run by cheaters WTF WTF!!!!

it just gets so tired guys, come on. I've never cheated in any game and yet I personally have even been hounded as a 'cheat' in certain games for years, literally years, thats how wrong and pathetic I know these accusations can be. Trust me, these guys also, like you, were pretty damn certain they were right. You just don't know ok, you really don't know and take my advice, you really don't want to care, lifes too short. There are 100 false accusations for every legitimate cheater out there, odds are youre wrong and making a whole drama from nothing. Its not a healthy way to look at the world, its paranoid, egocentric and ultimately unnecessary.

Oh, don't worry, I'm not bent out of shape about it or anything. I just find it laughably improbable that legitimacy played a role in this 'achievement'. Also, your insane lucky streak would get you, what, 8 high 77 maps? Maybe 10? So, around 3% xp at lvl 97?

Like I said, I just find it kinda laughable. Bravo for sinking that much time. Very diligent. But still.

I wouldnt have to buy all the maps. Through legitimate ingame trading and just playing a lot Ive managed to completely equip a character than can survive pretty much anything and get into the map system. Its taken trying to sell everything to build up stores of chaos and chisels to roll every map properly and sustain 70+ maps. I built up a stock of about 20 maps from running 67s, 68s and 69s and so far I am just about even on the amount I have got back from running them. Theyve gone from being 70s and 71s to numerous 75s in the bunch, at times it looked like I was gonna fall out of it but Ive been saved by rng and built it up again.

Its completely unsustainable, I wont be able to afford the chisels and the chaos to keep doing this, Im virtually broke atm with a small stock of maps I cant afford to roll and am nervous to risk playing. But thats cause its just me pushing it, yeah I got friends and we play the maps together but they dont play as much as me and have the same drive to keep pushing their characters to the max, theyre enjoying themselves farming and thats cool. This is my 5th proper character, if there were 6 of me and I had been pushing this since my first character on open beta we could have turned those 75s into 77s just like we turned the 70s into 75s, with a bit of rng luck and a team effort I completely believe its possible.

Trust me, I have issues with the system, with how impossible it is for a regular player to sustain, and those threads are out there. I know its not a sure thing. Those finds would have netted me about 45 exalts, thats 1575 chaos right now, if I got that rng luck next week again I could roll all the maps, yeah trade for a few here and there to offset the rng kicking my teeth in but I wouldnt need to just sit there and buy lvl77 maps all day, majority of them I would farm up from my map base at extreme expense, with 6 people doing it and a bit of luck we could make it. I dont for 1 minute buy that its obviously cheating, its clearly not.
